Riley's POV
I open my eyes to find myself still in the white hospital bed and Lin fast asleep in the green chair next to me. I grab my phone off the table, which Lin must've grabbed for me, and check the time; 8:16am. Less than an hour and I'll be out of here, I think about waking Lin but I know he has a show tonight and needs his sleep. So I just check my phone and find lots of texts from Alex and my friends asking where I am and if I'm okay. I reply to all of them telling them I'm fine and that I'll be back at school soon. In truth I have no idea what I'm going to do about school, I know Jake will be there, and I have a feeling he's going to be mad about me getting his dad in trouble so I have no idea what he's planning, and I'd rather not find out. I put my phone down and look over at Lin, he is leaned back with his arms crossed and his head is flopping to one side. He looks cold so I grab the extra blanket sitting in the corner and put it on him, he snuggles into it and continues sleeping like a baby. I smile to myself, this is the man that saved me the one that I owe my life to, for if he hadn't decided to foster me I would've died last night. I remember as Mr Brown had a knife to my neck, threatening to kill me, thinking that if I could just see Lin one last time and feel the safety that I feel when he hugs me, that I could die happy and content. Luckily I fought hard enough that I'm still here, and now I'm looking at my new foster dad sleeping like a baby in the chair next to me. I decide to play some games on my phone while I wait for Lin to wake up, just as I'm about to beat my high score on flappy bird, yes I still play that and I'm very proud of my score of 206, I hear Lin move and start to yawn. I look over at him and the bird on the screen crashes, damn 204 I was so close to beating my high score, but I'm not too mad since it's now 8:50 and I can go to my new home soon.

"Hey sleepy head," I say, laughing at Lin struggling to wake up, I don't blame him last night was exhausting.

"Hey," he says, sitting up in his chair and stretching, "How are you feeling?" I do a mental check of all the areas my injuries are and I realize that I had been so focused on my game that I didn't notice the painful throbbing in my thigh.

"Okay," I say "My leg kinda hurts but other than that-" I sit up and suddenly feel a wave a pain through my back and become light headed. Lin looks at me with worry plastered on his face. "Other than that my back hurts and I'm a little light headed," I say, laying back down to try and dull the pain. Lin's about to say something when the doctor walks in.

"Oh good, you're awake!" He says, coming over with his clipboard, "How are you feeling."

"Kinda like I got hit by a small bus," I say, rubbing my head.

"Just a small one?" Lin laughs, and I nod making him and the doctor laugh.

"Well once you get your pain meds it shouldn't hurt as bad, the ones we had you last night have worn off by now so that's why you're feeling sore," Doctor Smith explains. I nod my head, just wanting to get home, take some pain meds and go to sleep. "But good news is you can go home!" He says with a smile, "I just need you to come fill out so release papers," he says to Lin, "And you need to change," he says handing me hospital clothes since the ones I were wearing last night were ripped and had blood on them.

"We'll be back in a minute," Lin says as him and the doctor get up and leave, leaving me to change. I soon realized changing might be kinda hard with my leg and my back. I pull off the hospital gown that I was wearing and start pulling on some sweats they gave me, it hurts to put any weight on my hurt leg so I had to sit on the bed to pull them up my legs. And then I put on a T-shirt they gave me realizing that if I lift my arms above my head it causes a sharp pain to travel down my back, fun times. And bending over to put on the slippers they gave me was just as painful for my back, soon enough though I was dressed and Lin came back into the room to get me.
