I smooth the white fabric of my dress as I sit in the court room. My hands are shaking, Lin and Vanessa wouldn't decide last minute they don't want me; would they? I mean I wouldn't blame them if they did, I would probably send me back too. Everything goes by in a blur, all I remember is having a constant fear Lin or Vanessa would stop the judge and say they had changed their minds and wanted to send me back. But finally the paperwork was cleared, Lin and Vanessa made their statements saying they would care for me and the judge announced they were fit parents.

"I would like to introduce the newest member to the Miranda family, Miss Riley James Miranda," The judge announced, I had decided I wanted to make my original last name my middle name so I could stay connected to my birth parents. Lin and Vanessa agreed and we had it legally changed, everyone in the room applauded and cheered, pulling me into reality. And by 'everyone in the room' I mean the cast, my friends and Lin's parents. I couldn't believe it I finally had a family. I stood up with tears in my eyes and turned to Lin and Vanessa who were in the same state. I ran into their arms hugging them with a feeling I hadn't felt in a long time; love.

"Alright I think that's good for today," Alex said as I finished up Burn. Today was my first day of Eliza rehearsal and Alex wanted to tackle her hardest song so naturally we spent three hours working on Burn.

"Perfect now I have time to decorate Daveed's dressing room," I say as I put away my binder that had the sheet music for all the songs.

"Oh yeah it's his birthday isn't it?" Alex asks.

"Yep and it's become a tradition to decorate the cast member's dressing room on their birthday," I say.

"What are you planning on doing? Daveed is a wild man," Alex points out.

"That's very true but I actually have a really great surprise planned for him," I say, "You know those fan made portraits of the founders with the cast members faces photoshopped on them?"

"Oh dear lord Riley you did not," Alex laughs.

"Oh but I did with something even better," I laugh, "I got him a Lafayette one and a Jefferson one, but I'm going to wrap them within his room. So I'm going to put them both on opposite walls and put wrapping paper on the entire wall. The Lafayette one will have blue, white and red wrapping because those are the French colors and the Jefferson one will have purple because of Daveed's costume and I feel like Jefferson is a purple man."

"That sounds amazing but you'd better go if you wanna get it done before Daveed gets here," Alex says.

"You're right, I'll see you later and thanks for the rehearsal Alex!" I say as run out of the room.

"You're welcome," Alex laughs as I run from the piano room and back to the dressing rooms. Finally I reach Lin's dressing room where I have the wrapping paper and the portraits.

"Hey dad," I say as I come into the room dropping my stuff as I grab the supplies for Daveed's dressing room.

"Hey mija, how was rehearsal?" Lin asks as he types on his computer, mostly likely working on Moana, a Disney film that's supposed to come out in November.

"It was good," I say, double checking I have everything.

"That's good," Lin says turning to me, he laughs as he sees me with all the stuff in my arms, "Oh dear, decorating I presume, well just don't break anything."
