The morning of December 11th had dawned on them and Jasmine awoke to find Emma’s bed empty, messily made but none the less empty. She stared at the bed wondering what Emma could possibly be doing out this early in the morning, you weren’t allowed out this early in the morning, unless she was in the common room.

Jasmine’s curiosity got the better of her and she made her way down the stairs to check the common room, but she wasn’t there. She made her way back up the stairs, and sat on her bed, staring at Emma’s bed in confusion, she sat there for a while, until it was time  to get ready for breakfast, which  Emma was still not back by at that stage.

Jasmine made her way to breakfast alone and sat at breakfast with only Lily by her side for five minutes at which stage she finally entered the hall. They questioned her about it, but she just said she was outside, which was evident for she smelled of grass.

December 18th was the last day of school before the Christmas holidays, and Jasmine, Emma and Lily watched as everyone packed their things onto the train and laugh as they entered the train. There weren’t many people staying at school, the majority being the seven seventh years (Jasmine, Emma, Lily, Peter, Remus, James and Sirius) being the majority of the students staying behind.

The girls made their way back up to the castle after watching the train depart from the station, they were quite happy about having the school all to almost themselves. The three sat down at one of the many window ledges and talked and laughed, giving clues about what the others’ presents were.

Remus was in a pretty good mood, full moon was only about a week ago, and new moon (the time where he was the least wolfish) was nearing. He was sitting in the library, roughly an hour before dinner began, and his mood was improved as Jasmine walked in. She sat down next to him, and opened the book in her hands and placed it on the table, leaning over it.

Both Remus and Jasmine really weren’t into  their books and began chatting again like all the other times.

When Sirius entered the library, Jasmine was blushing, a light pink mind you, but she was still blushing. Sirius realized with that, that she in fact, had a crush on Remus. This made Sirius happy, really happy. The girl Remus liked liked him back. Sirius smirked as he thought of Jasmine breaking her father’s rules. His smile dropped, what would Remus do if he told him.

Would he not believe him, would he get angry, and if he did believe him, would he distance himself from her because? So regrettably, he went and got Remus, like James wanted, looked regrettably at Jasmine, and dragged him off, deciding not to tell him about it.

24th of December and Jasmine, Emma and Lily were sitting in the common room, 9pm, ready for bed, because the sooner they went to sleep, the sooner Christmas would come. Emma and Jasmine setting up for bed in the common room, Emma snagged the couch, and Jasmine got stuck in one of the two armchairs (though incredibly comfy), sleep came easily to the tired girls.

The girls woke late (for them) at 7 in the morning. It took Jasmine a second to register what day it was. It’s Christmas! Her mind screamed in joy, she loved Christmas, the food, the presents and that everyone seemed happy on Christmas.

Emma woke only minute after Jasmine, Lily walking minutes after that. Lily called an elf and asked kindly for hot chocolate and gingerbread. It was when the girls received the food that they sat down by the small tree in the head’s common room Christmas tree.

Just as each girl gathered one present each, and were about to open their first present each that James’ gang sauntered in (well Just as each girl gathered one present each, and were about to open their first present each that James’ gang sauntered in (well Sirius sauntered in). Lily and Emma groaned, Jasmine kept the face of indifference, though on the inside her mind was screaming that Remus was here.

James and Sirius started a conversation based off sarcasm and mockery with Emma and Lily, annoying the crap out of the two girls while Peter, Jasmine and Remus watched, ignoring the others who were not taking part in the conversation (well Jasmine ignored Peter, she watched Remus out of the corner of her eye.

Unknown to Jasmine was that Remus was a Werewolf and he could sense her watching him and fought to keep a joyful smile off his face, she couldn’t like you  the rational part of his brain yelled at him, but for once her pushed the rational thoughts back, for once letting himself believe that she liked him, for that was the only why he could get through Christmas. Even if his holiday joy was a lie.

The argument continued on for another five minutes before Lily and Emma decided to just ignore James and Sirius and continue opening their presents. Just as they were about to open them again, the boys sat down and each grabbed one of their own presents.

Each person gathered a nice pile of presents, though Emma’s was considering smaller then everyone else’s. All the girls ignored this fact, for Emma’s sake, they knew how her prissy pureblood family never sent her anything and how she didn’t want them to.

James had been rather confused when he opened an unnamed present, to find a wonderful book, All there is to flying and brooms. Quidditch books were really the only type of books James had read, he hadn’t heard of this book before.

Inside the book were pages upon pages of all the different brooms, their price (that changed as the price as they did in real life), their maker, statistics and special features. There were things about all the games that could be played on a broom and all the rules, tips and tricks. He stared lovingly at the book and all 873 pages of it.

When he had first opened it, everyone had watched as he scrambled through the wrapping trying to find a card or anything left that could imply the sender. He had sulked slightly when he found none, muttering something about it being an epic present.

At that Lily had turned a slight pink colour as Jasmine had nudged her with her elbow, her bright red hair and freckles made it easy for others not to notice her blush, which nobody did. Jasmine had been with Lily when she had bought the book for James, in the hope that he would like it. By the looks of it, he had.

The girls all got an assortment of books, jewellery, clothes and lollies from one another.

The lot of them then headed down to the breakfast hall (splitting into two different groups because Lily and Emma couldn’t stand being with James and Sirius. Lily didn’t mind being around James as much as she used to, but he still got on her nerves to end.

Breakfast was a lovely, calm affair, Jasmine’s breakfast being mostly made up of Christmas sweets that she would be unable to eat for another twelve months. The hall was quiet, the people eating in it only being a small amount of teachers and the tiny amount of students, so it was quiet. People were having quiet conversations with the people beside them or just eating quietly. Jasmine, Emma and Lily spent their time talking about what they were going to do for the rest of the day (mainly deciding to spend their time in the snow.

The girls split to their different common rooms to get rugged up and then met in the entrance hall smiling before heading out into the snow.
