"Mom, what did you do? Did you hurt anyone?"

"Relax, I just got a ticket." She said that way too calmly.

"For what?"

"Drunk driving."

"Mom! Again?"

"It's only happened two other times!"

"Mom, I told you, you can't..."

"I know, bad example. Got it."

"Whatever."

I marched out her bedroom and stomped downstairs.

"Is something wrong Cali?" I didn't want to upset Axl or anything, so I just said, "No, I'm fine."

He kind of half smiled. "You're a horrible lier Cali. I can tell you're lying, what's up?" True concern filled his eyes. Before I said anything I realized the boys were still in here. They both looked confused, so I gave them a half hearted smile and said, "Hey Mackie, do you wanna play basketball outside with the monsters for a few?"

She got the clue. "Um, sure! Hey I bet I can beat both of you at knockout!" She's such a good friend.

"No you can't!" They both screamed in unison.

"I guess we'll have to see," she said as she lead the boys to the backyard. She gave us a wink, then left to join the boys.

"It's not that big of a deal ya know."

"But it's still bothering you. Spill."

I told him about my conversation with my mom. I could tell he was trying not to laugh when he said, "She's gotten a ticket for drunk driving three times in the last seven months?"

"Yeah," I let out a small chuckle to lighten the mood. "sad right?"

He did the same and said, "She doesn't seem like the kind of person who would be drinking so much."

"She isn't really, well, not at least before Dad left."

Oh crap, I could feel tears filling up in my eyes.

"I-I should, um..."

This has happened a lot lately. I mention Dad and I just have a nervous breakdown.

Axl just laid my head down on his shoulder, then put his head on top of mine. "Sh, It's okay. You can cry. Just let it all out. It's okay. I'm here."

I stayed there and cried into his shoulder for what felt like days I was crying so much. After I was done, he wiped away the tears on my face and said, "Are you ready to talk about it just yet?"

"Not yet. It's too early. But when I am, I'll come straight to you." I gave him a very weak and small smile, which he returned back to me, but his face was more concerned than anything. I still haven't told him about what happened to my dad just yet. It was too early. Too early.

"Hey, I don't like being sad, lets do something fun!" This was Axl's way of changing the subject.

"Sure, I'd like that. What do ya wanna do?"

"Um... OOH I KNOW!" He went and got a bandana from one of my drawers upstairs. "Now I'm going to blindfold you and I'll lead you to where we'll have our little 'date'."

"Okay, but if I trip, it's your fault." I winked at him and he just smirked.

"Shut up! And yeah sure whatever." Then he blindfolded me and started to lead me to my surprise 'date'.
