I honestly don't know why I said yes to Miles. I mean, I like him as a friend, not like... that. But I also didn't wan't to hurt or embarrass him.

I leaned over my bed rail to see the clock.

Ten thirty, only ten thir... wait, WHAT?!

I turned away from the clock then turned back around to see if that's really how late it was.

Shit! I am so late for school. Meh, it's Friday. They'll get over it.

I rolled back over and fell fast asleep.

I was at the beach, it looked a lot like Pismo. The waves were washing up all the way to my feet about ten feet from the shore. I saw someone, I couldn't tell who, they were standing right across from me, but all I got was a silhouette.  They just stood there looking straight at me. I wouldn't, or couldn't move. The person told me something, a voice I did not recognize. They called to me, "I've been wanting to tell you something for a long while Cali. I miss you dearly and I want to see you again. I love you. No one has told you the truth of the life, our lives, we shared before. I want to set things straight. You won't believe me, or forgive me, I know this. But I can dream. And Cali, one more thing. I am..." The wave crashed over the person and they were gone. A humongous rock and some seaweed was in their place. For some reason I had to get around it, so I tried pushing. That didn"t work. I tried again. Nothing. There was no way around it. I was in such a hurry, I was only about thirty feet away, so I started sprinting at top speed, hoping to be able to run up the rock when it burst into flames, the silhoutte of the person behind, or in, the flames. They spoke to me. "Wisdom beats all Cali. Wisdom is the key. Be wise in life and you shall have no problem." I couldn't speak back. I tried, but I couldn't. The fire as I stared back in confusement burnt out quickly taking the silhoutte with it. The rock started to move over so I could go to wherever I was supposed to be going when about seven snakes slithered from behind the rock over to me. I screamed and ran in the other direction. Then I ran into a man, I think it was a man. The only thing I saw of this man was his eyes. Beautiful green. He took my hand in his and said, "I..."

I jolted up from my bed, hitting my hed on the bunk above me that I never use. I scrambled to my "dream notebook" and wrote down every little detail that happened in my dream. I heard someone climbing uo the stairs. Mom's not home, she's at work and the two monsters are at school. I heard the footsteps stop, and I turned around nervously to see who was standing in my doorway.

My father.
