"Are we there yet?!" I whined.

"God you sound like you're three years old, but no, were pretty close though."

"Okay. Now can you tell me where we're going?"

"Nope." I didn't even have to see him to know that he was smirking when he said that.

"Can you give me a hint at least?"

"Ugh. Do I have to?"

"Hm... yes, yes you do."

"Fine, this place has walls."

"Axl!"

"What? It does!"

"Whatever. Are we really there yet?"

"Yep, we're here!" Axl went and gently removed the bandana, then ran into a 'tada!' position in front of the building. I couldn't believe what I saw, I just burst out laughing.

"Paintball! I love paintball!"

"I know." He winked at me and threw his arms out in front of him, motioning me for a hug. I accepted and jumped on him, giving Axl the tightest bear hug I had in me. I whispered in his ear, "Thank you."

He whispered back, "It was nothing babe."

Wait, did he just call me...

He lifted me down, pointed to the paintball building and yelled, "Let's go play paintball! Pretend all those sorry losers are your mom... or whatever!" He grabbed my wrist and ran to the building to pay and crap, with me following close behind. I've never been good or interested in running. It is definitely NOT my thing.

The lady at the front desk had us pay and told us to pick our 'code' names. Axl and I have always chosen funny code names for each other, so I chose 'the loner' for Axl and he chose 'shoe whore' for me. I'm surprised they let us use those names.

After that the lady showed us a bench to wait on for the next time slot.

About two seconds after we sat down, Darren and his football buddies walked in. He saw me right away. He smiled, waved and then mouthed 'I'll be right back.' I waved, because I was already smiling, and mouthed back 'Okay.' I could see out of the corner of my eye that Axl was PISSED. I looked at him and did my fake baby voice, "Are you upset because Darren's here? Or are you jealous? Or are you both?"

He didn't look at me and kept his straight face on. "No."

I kind of chuckled on the inside. It was kind of sweet that Axl was jealous of Darren.

"I know when you're lying Axl. It's okay, I'm not going to ditch ya." I playfully punched his arm. "And besides, it's Cali and Axl bonding time right now... over paintball." I let out a small chuckle and he did as well.

"Well of course you won't ditch me, I'm too awesome to be ditched." We both laughed until I saw Darren start to walk over. I looked nervously at Axl.

"I'll be right back."

"Okay, but don't be gone to long."

"Yes, mother." We both laughed as I started walking toward Darren.

"Hey, what are you doin' here?"

"Oh, Axl blindfold me and then led me here." That did not sound as good as it did in my head. "What are you doin' here?"

"Coach said we needed some team bonding time, so here we are!"

I let out a small giggle and so did he. I could see Axl starting to get annoyed so I thought I'd better hurry it up.

"I better be going. The game is starting soon. Bye! I'll see you tomorrow at school!"

"Bye Cali!"

I started walking back to where Axl was sitting. He grinned once he saw me walking back to the bench.

"So how was your talk with loverboy?"

I just glared at him and then shrugged. "I dunno. Good, I guess."

"That's fantastic," he said sarcastically. I playfully punched him in the arm again, but this time he put me in a headlock and wouldn't let me go.

"Let go of me Axl! You're causing a scene!"

"Actually, you're the one causing a scene dear."

"How?!"

"I don't know, but kicking and screaming might have something to do with it." He smiled and winked at me, and I just rolled my eyes at him.

They finally announced that our time slot was starting, so he let me go. We went to get our guns and, of course, Darren and his friends were in our time slot. Fabulous. (Note the sarcasm.) This was going to be a great game.
