I really couldn't believe I was sitting in the doctor's office. I've never been to a gynecologist before in my life and my mother had disappeared again with this new idea she had. God, I just wanted my mom to be here for once to hold my hand.
"Miss Cerulli, this is Nurse Lisa."
"Hi.." I said nervously.
"How are you feeling today?" Lisa questioned. That was a question she didn't want me to answer. "It's ok if you don't want to talk. The doctor is going to do the exam now so if you need to, squeeze my hand ok?" I nodded slowly.
As weird as it was to admit to, it didn't go so bad. Sure I was in tears, but nothing I couldn't handle. "Daddy?" I asked softly when the doctor finally let my dad back in.
"Yeah?"
"Whatever happens, I'll still be your daughter, right?"
"Of course. Why would you ask something like that?" My dad questioned me worryingly.
"Well, I'm not the perfect daughter. I'm a cutter and at 15 you're at a doctors office with me to see if I'm pregnant."
"Skye, no matter what happens, you're still my kid. I just need you to be honest about everything with me ok?" I nodded slowly.
"Well..?" I asked when I saw the doctor come in.
When he took a deep breath, I knew the home pregnancy test was right. "No..." I whispered.
"Are you a hundred percent sure?" I heard my dad's voice from a distance. Looking up, I watched the doctor nod his head.
"There's more.." I froze. "Sir, because she's underage I do have to tell you...from the looks of this exam I don't think that this didn't happened on her terms."
"Maybe I just like it like that." I said defiantly, immediately going to my role as a defiant. Besides, I couldn't let anyone know or Nix would get hurt.
"Skye, there's always a difference. I'm sorry. However, from here its up to your father and you."
"Thanks, doc." My dad said. Once I was left alone, I cried. I cried for all the things that I couldn't do any longer. I cried for the shame I brought to my family. I cried for being so stupid.
