"Mr. Olsen wake up!" a female voice called as a ruler slapped down on my desk. I sat up, blinking rapidly.
"I'm sorry, ma'am," I said tiredly. "I didn't sleep well last night."
"Go to the nurse Mr. Olsen," she said glaring at me.
"Okay." I stood and gathered my books. She wrote me a pass and sent me on my way. The nurse looked up when I came in.
"Yes Pheonix, what can I do for you?" she asked in a motherly tone.
"I keep falling asleep in class Ms. Matson. Relish sent me here," I said handing over the slip.
"Oh dear, I'll call your father and have him come get you. Go lay down and try to rest," she said picking up her phone. I went into the other room and fell onto the couch. As soon as my eyes closed, the dreams started.
-Dream-
"Pheo you'll love 'im I promise me da is the greatest man alive," Dameon said leading me into his house.
"Not better than my dad," I replied laughing as the door shut behind us. Dameon turned.
"I've never met your da but I still say my da is the best. Trust me you'll love 'im." Dameon smiled, dimples showing in his cheeks.
"Okay, whateva you you say mate," I agreed as we moved to the kitchen.
"Da! Da we're here!" Dameon called into the room. "Da!"
"I'm here lad stop shoutin' geez you'll wake the bloody dead," an older man said coming in the back door. He smiled at me. "Who's this then?"
"Da, this is my best mate Pheonix. Pheo dis is me da, Devon," Dameon said smiling.
"Ello sir, I've heard so much about you," I said shaking his hand, "he never shuts up about you."
"I can't say the same about you son. Dameon's been keeping secrets." His tone changed as he eyed me hungrily. I ignored his eyes raking my body.
"Sorry Da he's new, I met 'im a week ago." Dameon's voice matched his father's tone. I started to get scared.
"Tis alright my boy. Pheo come let's eat some lunch," Devon said putting an arm around me. He pulled me into the kitchen and he sat down at the bar. "Pheo tell me 'bout yerself."
"Um, I'm from Pennsylvania, I play soccer, my dad is a famous guitarist, my mum is a journalist, I play almost any instrument you put in front of me, I have a lovely girlfriend, and I'm here on a scholarship," I ticked off confused.
"You're going to leave your girlfriend," Devon said angrily.
"'Scuse me?" I damanded, standing up. Dameon turned to me with a smile.
"Yer gonna leave yer girlfriend, you belong to us now. Do you understand me?" Devon repeated turning to me.
"I belong to no one. I think it best I leave now. Bye Dameon," I stormed out of the kitchen towards the door. Something slammed into my side knocking me into the wall hard.
"Yer not leaving Pheo, I won't allow it. I want you too much. Don't worry, we'll break you soon enough," Dameon said in my ear. I felt him press into my thigh. I felt sick.
"Don't do this, D. Please I'm beggin' let me go," I sobbed trying to fight him off. I was almost free when Devon grabbed me from behind. "No!"
"Pheonix...Nix...Pheonix..." someone was calling my name.
