Everyone stayed in their spots, none of us moved. Fuck. "Mr. Olsen, we need to ask you to leave the room." I looked up to see my mom's lawyer.
"No. I don't want the egg donor here. My uncle has more rights to be here right now." I said sternly. The lawyer went to speak again. "No! I have police staying here tonight, I will have them escort her out in handcuffs!"
He left quickly and I was brought up to my room for the night. I had a bracelet that read 'suicide risk' on my left arm; and once my uncle and dad knew where I would be, I begged for them to leave. That was easier said than done. "I'll call when I get home and I'm talking to you until you fall asleep." My dad said.
"I was the dumb adult who got myself into this, Dad, just let me deal with it right now? I'll see you in the morning." I told him softly.
"Fine, but call if you can't sleep at least?" He questioned before leaning down to give me a quick hug. "Love you."
"Love you more, Dad." I said and watched them both leave. My nook and chargers were in my purse that I had been carrying. My phone...oh no...where's my phone? I panicked for a moment and logged onto the app on my tablet; I couldn't tell where it was, some gym from the look of it.
When you've cooled off, please bring me my phone at least. Room 1401.
I knew the lock on the phone wouldn't allow anyone in, and if I was right on who had it, he'd know exactly what I meant. Two hours passed as I waited and I was starting to get tired from the meds they were giving me.
Nix came into my room, still looking pissed off. "Here." He said shortly.
"Thanks." I said as I took it from him and threw it on the table. "Where you staying tonight?" I asked as a male nurse walked in. He was huge and if I would've seen him on the streets, I would never have thought him to be a nurse.
"Phoenix, this the skirt you been chasing?" The nurse questioned.
"Don't wanna talk about it, Hector."
"Who are you?" I questioned.
"You're nurse. I need to get your blood."
"Yeah, you're real funny. Nobody is-"
"Skye, shut up for once! He's actually good. Better than the assholes that normally work here." I glared at him.
"Why do you need blood anyways? I just had a miscarriage nothing else." I protested, but I watched him take out the stuff he needed. "I'm not gonna win, am I?"
"Nope." Hector said as he looked at my wrist. "These are fresh...I'm going to have to draw from the back of your hand."
"Whatever." I said softly and grabbed a fist full of sheets. "It shouldn't be tha-oh, you're almost done." I said softly as I looked at the vials of blood he already took from me.
"You two don't make sense at all, you know that right?" I just shrugged. I didn't really want to talk. My mouth defiantly got me into enough trouble tonight.
I looked over to Nix when the nurse left. "I'll be passed out in a few seconds if you wanna turn on the TV. Nobody will be here until about noon." I offered.
"Nah, I'm going back to the gym for a while."
"What about after?"
"Not home, my dad can suck a dick for all I care."
"Come back here?" I offered.
"Nah, I'll probably crash on Brad's couch."
I nodded and watched as he walked out. I wasn't happy when I was told that I would have to strip down and be in a paper gown. Fuck suicide watch. Fuck this hospital. I wasn't going to kill myself, just watch some really sad movies all night and try to forget everything that happened. It took me a few minutes to fall asleep, but I finally did thanks to the pain meds.
"Skye?" I stirred a little at the man's voice. "Skye, wake up." Too cheery. If I kept my eyes closed, I wouldn't have to wake up. "C'mon, Skye, I don't wanna be here when your dad gets here."
Sighing, I rolled over onto my back to see Nix. "Morning."
"Afternoon."
"What? No..I couldn't have slept all day."
"You did." Hector said as he walked into the room. "Don't worry, I'm not staying, just giving you antibiotics."
"What for?" Nix questioned.
"She'll have to tell you, sorry, man."
Nix nodded and then looked at me. "Don't wanna talk about it." He tilted his head a little and I didn't have to look up to know he was giving me a death glare. "Fine, just come here." I said softly when Hector left. "Allan...he gave me...he gave me gonorrhea." Nix started to giggle. "What's so funny?" I questioned.
"Nothing." He giggled some more.
"Nix, what the fuck is wrong with you?" I questioned before looking up at him. His eyes were glassed over and his pupils were wide as saucers. "Seriously? You're high?!" I yelled at him.
"Yeah, but it's okay. I'm seeing sounds and I's sleepy." He said as he stumbled over to the couch. "This is a comfy bed. I like this bed."
I tuned him out and turned over to my side. I didn't know how long had passed when my father walked in wearing a three piece suit and loosening his tie. "How'd it go, Dad?"
"Rescheduled..again." He said with a sigh and sat on the chair next to me. "He stay last night?"
"No. He just got here. Seems really tired." I lied effortlessly.
My dad gave a small nod. "So...why this time?"
"She had a business trip."
"Bull shit." I spat. "Why can't they just finalize it?"
"She won't show up." My dad said calmly. "Forget about the divorce, okay? You need to get better so I can get you home."
"Promise?"
"Promise."
I smiled a little and handed my laptop to my dad. He went through our DVR and found the latest Cowboys game. Hector had come in and out to give me my meds and checked my vitals. He didn't speak a word of what else had been wrong, I didn't want my dad to blame Phoenix for more that wasn't his fault.
A skype call came through and it was my mother, I hurriedly denied it. She knew I didn't want to talk to her. As soon as she moved out, I didn't receive a single text or call. "Dad?"
"Yeah?"
"Your lawyer said I could make the divorce go quicker, right? And make sure she can't force me to go with her?" My dad nodded. "Call him. I wanna do it."
