*the next day*

Hera's P.O.V

Today, we were going to Zeb's house to visit. He wanted us to come over and have supper at his house. I thought it was a great idea and so did my two boys. It was getting close to supper time and decided to head out. We got there about ten minutes later and parked the Ghost in the drive way. All of us went up to the door, but before Kanan could knock, a hyper and happy Sabine opened the door. "Hey guys!" She chirped. I smiled, "hello, Sabine,". "Come in," she said moving out of the way to let us in. "Thank you," Kanan said. "Supper will be ready in six minutes!" Zeb yelled from the kitchen. Me and Kanan sat on the couch. "Hey Ezra? How about you and Sabine go and paint something until supper is ready," I said.

Sabine's P.O.V

"Yeah!" I was thrilled with aunt Hera's idea and dragged Ezra over to my room. He didn't say a word the whole time. 'Is he mute?' I thought opening my room. His jaw dropped when he saw my masterpieces on my walls. "Wow," Ezra said amazed, I guess he isn't mute, "did you do all of these?". "Every single one," I responded proudly. "These are amazing," he commented. I blushed a little from embarrassment, "thank you, cous," I thanked ruffling his hair. Ezra laughed at my affectionate touch and smiled. "Woah," I said widening my eyes. "What?" He asked curiously. "You can actually smile," I said in disbelief and then playfully saying, "who are you and what did you do to Ezra". We both laughed at my 'astonishment'. "Um, I don't know. New Jersey?" He said making me laugh harder.

After we calmed down, Ezra started to look around my room. I sat on my bed watching him move around the area. He arrived at my bookshelf and scanned through the books until one caught his eye. "What's this?" Ezra asked pulling out my most valuable book. "Be careful with this book," I said, "it's just a couple of pictures of my old parents". I sadly looked at the book. "Oh sorry, I shouldn't have touched it," he apologized, "i didn't know you were adopted". "It's alright," I reassured him and turned through the pages. "This is my mom and dad," I said pointing to a man and woman. Ezra looked over my shoulder and began to give a scared expression.

He calmed down and asked, "w-what happened to them? If you don't mind me asking". I sadly smiled, "my mom died giving birth and my dad disappeared the day I was born". Then something surprised me, Ezra hugged me. "I'm sorry that happened," I hugged him and let some tears out. We let go and smiled at each other. I began to chuckle a little and it kept getting harder. Ezra started to laugh too. "Suppers ready!" I heard dad call. "Come on!" I shouted running towards the kitchen with Ezra on my tail.

Aunt Hera and Uncle Kanan were already sitting at the table when both of us entered. "I made pizza," dad said and I sat down next to my cousin. "Mmmm my favorite!" I gleefully said. Everyone dug into the meal with satisfied faces around the table. All of us talked and joked about the craziest things. I glanced at Ezra to see that he hardly ate anything. "Earth to Ezra," I snapped my fingers in front of his face. He jumped and looked at me, "yes?". "Euston, do we have a problem?" I giggled. "All clear on this side. Roger out," he replied and laughed as well. They smiled at me and Ezra's childish act. "You two are going to be double trouble for us," dad playfully nudged and continued, "aren't ch'ya?". I rolled my eyes and took another bit out of the piece I was eating.

When the pizza was gone, the adults went to go talk in the living room. Me and Ezra went back to my room. I notice that he was scared of something ever since I showed him that picture. I wonder why? "Ez, are you ok?" I asked sitting on my bed. He crossed his arms and found his feet interesting, "I'm fine". Now, I was getting worried, "what's wrong? I can tell something in your life isn't making you feel like puppies and rainbows" I said with my arms crossed.

Ezra started to yelled, "well you won't feel like puppies and rainbows if you've been through what I have!". I was surprised, but regain my composure, "Then tell me, cause I don't know the story of Ezra Bridger's life!" I shouted back. He calmed down and just said two words that ticked me off, "it's complicated". I thought my eye twitched after he said that and muttered, "yeah right". Ezra was boiling with angry, "what have you been through because it surely isn't as bad as my life". I looked at him and said, "I lost my mom. My dad didn't even care to see me after I was born. My other family didn't want me. I was put in an adoption center that treated you like a slave, I escaped and ran from there to Lothal. It took me a whole week to get here. I lived on the streets for 2 months until my step-dad found me".

Ezra looked at me shocked that I actually admitted them. He sadly walked over and sat next to me, "My parents were killed by tornadoes. The police didn't care about a thing like me and through me into 10 different foster homes since I was 8. The last foster home I was in was abusive. When I was finally free, I lived on the streets for a month. Our step-dads and my last foster home guardian found me. I was shot in the shoulder by a gun. There was a tornado that destroyed my new mom and dad's home. I thought my dad was dead. I'm being hunted my a gang. A guy named Paul broke into my new home and burned it to smithereens. P-Phantom d-died saving m-me". I saw tears trail down his cheeks and started to cry softly. I wrapped my arms around him and let him lay his head on my chest. Ezra won in worst life, but there was something else that he didn't say. So I just let it slide for now.

A knock on the door snapped me from my thoughts. "Yes?" I called. "Ezra, time to go back to the hotel," I heard uncle Kanan say. Ezra got out of my grasp and walked to the door with arms crossed and head down. "Thank you," he said and went out the door. 'Next time we meet, it's going to be awkward,' I thought smiling.

Kanan's P.O.V

Ezra walked out of the room and immediately knew something was wrong. I put my arm in front of him, "spill". He looked up and I was surprised to see a genuine smile, "I'm ready to go to come back home,". I smiled and swung my arm over his small frame, "that's the son I know and love". We all said our goodbyes and I drove the Ghost back home so Hera could get some shut eye. Ezra was also sleeping and i noticed that he brought his stuffed cat. He had a blanket covering him and snuggled with the cat. 'He's so cute,' I chuckled quietly to myself and drove through the peaceful night.
