Ezra's P.O.V

When me and Sabine got back, the adults checked her leg. Her leg was only twisted and the swollen part just needed an ice pack. Thankfully it was nothing serious. Me and Sabine talked and she showed me how to do a thing called a selfie. Sabine told me that she had a surprise for me and late birthday present but it wasn't done yet. "So the next time we meet, it will be finished," she said. "Thanks Sabine, for everything," I said. "No problem cous," Sabine chirped. A knock on the door and Zeb coming in ment that they were leaving. "Time to go," Zeb said and picked Sabine up. "Ok, bye everyone!" She said and they were out the door.

*an hour later*

"Did you have fun?" Dad asked sitting on the edge of my bed. I yawned and pulled the blanket up some more, "yeah". "Good night," mom and dad said in sync and went to there own room. I closed my eyes and was out.

Kanan's P.O.V

I finished brushing my teeth and got into bed with Hera. "Night, love," Hera cooed. I smiled and said good night. When I knew Hera was sleeping, I rubbed her stomach, "and you to baby". I was about to close my eyes when I heard something in the halls. I quietly laid my feet on the soft carpet and grabbed an emergency bat from under the bed. I made my way down the stairs and heard a noise coming from the kitchen. I slowly made my way to the kitchen's entrance and poked my eyes from around the corner. It was dark but I saw a shadow of a person standing next to the fridge. I went onto my knees and crawled around the table. Getting closer and closer until I was near whoever it was. The figure wasn't that tall and I could tell their back was facing me. I put the bat down and launched myself at the person, putting them in a position so that they don't try anything. The person screamed and I knew that scream from anywhere. "Ezra?" I said and released him from my hold. "What was that for?" He quietly yelled, angry at me. "I thought someone was breaking into the house," I defended. "Then why didn't you turn on the light," he said. "Well, if the guy had a gun then I would have been shot at!" I replied whispering. "Oh," was all he said, "still, you gave me a heart attack". "Sorry about that," I sheepishly rubbed the back of my neck. "Why are you up any way?" I asked. "I was having a hard time sleeping," he admitted. An idea went off in my mind, "how about I warm some hot chocolate and we can watch something until you fall asleep?". "Sure," he said happily.

So that's what we did until Ezra fell asleep. I set the mugs in the sink and went back to the living room to carry a sleeping Ezra. It was hard going up the stairs with the fourteen year old in my arms, but I somehow made it work. I tucked him in bed and was going to my own. "Night daddy," I heard him say. I smiled, "night Ez," and went to my own bed.

*the next day*

Hera's P.O.V

I patiently waited for Ezra to get ready to leave for school shopping. I talked to Kanan and we decided that he would start on January 10th. That was two days away. I was teaching Ezra things that he would need to at least know. There was some things that he was struggling on but me and Kanan would help him with it. Then, I just remembered something. Ezra doesn't know that I'm going to be his teacher. I decided to keep it a secret and see what he thinks. "I'm coming mom!" I heard my boy say running down the steps. "Ready?" I asked. "Yep," he said and we were both out of the house.

I parked the Ghost in a space and both of us went into the store. We got a cart and skimmed through the shelves. I split the list when it was taking a bit longer than I thought. "You can get these items. I think there is some baskets at the store's entrance to help carry your stuff," I said. He said ok and went on his way to get some school supplies. I ventured through the isles to finish my list. I looked at my list and didn't pay any mind to what was coming up in front of me. Crash! I ran into another cart. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going," I said frantically apologizing. I felt like kicking myself in the head for not paying attention to where I was going. The woman I ran into was also embarrassed for doing the same thing. "I am to," she said. A minute later, we both laughed at ourselves for being silly. "My names Hera," I said, raising my hand to shake hers. She took the friendly gesture and said, "nice to meet you, I'm Jenny".

"Hey mom," I hear Ezra calling, "I got everything and who is this?". He was standing next to me when I said, "this is Jenny. We sort of ran into each other". Jenny laughed a little and Ezra had a dumbfounded look on his face. "It was nice meeting you two," Jenny said and rolled her cart away. Me and Ezra got the rest of the supplies and went back home. "Are you excited about school?" I asked. "Yes," I replied, smiling. "Good, I'm glad you are," I said and drove into the drive way.

We grabbed the supplies and went into the house. Both of us began to organize everything and put it in Ezra's new black and blue book bag. "That's everything," Ezra cheered when we were finally done. I rolled my eyes and shook my head back and fourth. I looked at the clock to see that it was 3:00. "What do you want to do?" I asked. Kanan was at work patrolling the city so it was just me and Ezra. "Could we walk through the woods?" He asked, "I wanted to check the place out". "Sure," I chirped and used the wall to help me stand. The bundle of joy in my stomach was making it hard to get up with all the weight being added on. "Are you ok?" Ezra said worriedly. "Yes," I said and thought of a quick excuse, "my legs fell asleep". "Oh," he said and got up himself.

Then our adventure through the woods began. The woods were beautiful , colored with orange and red leaves scattered high and low with a steady creek flowing. You could hear the songs of birds chirping and breeze blowing. "Wow," I said about the breath taking scene, "these woods are incredible". "Yeah," Ezra agreed. We kept walking and were at the end of the woods. There was a meadow with a willow tree out a little ways away from the woods. We walked over to the willow tree and sat under it on the soft ground. Ezra looked up in the tree and stood up. "Can I climb the tree?" He asked hopeful that I would say yes. "Knock yourself out," I said and he began to climb the tree.

Ezra's P.O.V

I climbed the tree as far as possible and took a look at the view. It was amazing and thought that I liked it up here. I didn't know how long it was but mom said that it was getting close to supper time. I climbed back down the tree and we left the tree going back in the woods to our home.

I opened the door and mom followed me in to the house. We were both greeted by the smell of something cooking. "There you two are. I was wondering where you guys ran off to," Dad said walking out of the kitchen. "What are you making?" I asked. "Fish," he simply said smiling. Then another smell came into the air. "What's that smell?" Mom asked curiously. Dad eyes widen, "shoot! The fish!".

He ran back to the kitchen with me and mom on his heels. We saw him open the oven with a mitt on his hand and pulled out a pan with burn't fish on it. Me and mom laughed while dad put the pan on top of the oven. "How about a classic peanut butter and jelly?" Dad said and muttered, "at least I can't burn that". I laughed even harder and dad's face went red from embarrassment. Mom calmed her laughing and said, "dear, don't forget to take a chill pill to let that heated face of yours to not burn either". "Hera!" Dad said with his face getting more red. I just kept laughing and said, "you get any more red, your going to look like a tomato". "Now you Ezra!" He said with fake hurt.

Chopper came into the kitchen with something in his mouth. He gave it to dad and left. "Oh, everyone is a comedian tonight," dad muttered. He went back to making the sandwiches and I sneaked over to see what Chopper gave him. It was an ice cube. I stifled back more laughter and grabbed a plate. All of us sat down for supper and ate the sandwiches. "Hera darling, your cooking next time," dad said. I almost choked on my food from dad being, well dad. "Yes dear," mom said, taking another bit of her food.
