Ezra's P.O.V

I woke up to find Pickles Jr. held to my chest. I smiled and remembered when I got the stuffed cat. A nurse walked in with a breakfast tray and asked, "do you want to watch a movie?". She set the tray on my lap and waited for my response. "Sure," I said and took a bit out of the food. The food was good but it could not compare to mom's cooking. "Would you like to watch.." She paused looking through a couple of movies, "Old Yeller?". I never heard of the movie before, "yes please and thank you". The nurse smiled and put the movie in.

It was a good movie until it happened. The dog was protecting his family and succeeded but was later shot. I closed my eyes for a moment and see Phantom doing the same thing. Then everything after that was a blur.

Kanan's P.O.V

I was just driving around town when I get a phone call. I set the phone on speaker, "hello". "Is this Mr. Jarrus?" A voice says. "Yes, why? Who is this?" I asked. "This is the hospital," the voice said and I started to worry. "Ezra is having a panic attack and we can't calm him down. We need you to come to the hospital please". I drove my way through the small city and to the hospital. When I got there, I saw Hera park. We both ran into the doors and a nurse showed us to Ezra's room. All of us went down the hall and I heard screaming and yelling come from a certain room. 'Please don't be him, please don't be him,' I thought.

To no such luck, we entered the screaming room. There were four doctors around the bed trying to calm him down. Ezra was was kicking and screaming all over the bed. The sight itself was horrific in my opinion. Me and Hera went over and the doctors let us through. Hera and I looked at each other and had a silent plan formed. I gently grabbed Ezra into a tight hug but not tight enough to hurt him. Then he started to yell, "it's my fault! It's my fault!". His fault? What was his fault? "Ezra," I cooed and Hera went into the other side, sitting down with us. "Ezra," she said and somehow stopped kicking but still was panicked. I could tell that he didn't know what was going on. "Mommy? Daddy?" He whimpered.

"Yes Ezra," I said and he looked in my direction. "Dada?" He said, "it's my fault". "What's your fault?" Hera said gently. Then he turned in Hera's direction, "mama?" He said, "it's my fault". "What's your fault?" We both said together. I was getting a little annoyed but had to stay calm for Ezra's sake. "I-I killed P-Phantom," he said and cried into my chest. Hera and I glanced at each other and back at the boy in my arms.

The doctors and nurses left the room when we calmed Ezra down. "Can you explain to us what happened?" Hera asked. "Paul was about to shoot me when Phantom came out of nowhere and tackled Paul to the ground. I heard a shot and looked outside to see Phantom not m-moving," Ezra explained. "So it wasn't your fault," I said. He gave me a sad look, "no it is my fault". "No it wasn't, Phantom was just protecting you because he loves you Ezra," Hera said with tears in her eyes. I knew Phantom was a big impact on Hera, Phantom was her dog since she was ten years old. Ezra knew it to and got out of my grasp. He scooted over to Hera and hugged her. She smiled and loved the boy's comfort when they lost Phantom.

"Come on, let's get out of here," I said and they both agreed. We let Ezra get out of the hospital gown and into actual clothes. I signed Ezra out of the hospital and we all went to the Ghost. I put my arm around the small frame of my son and said, "let's take you home".
