Hailey wakes up and changes her shirt to a plain, white one and ties her hoodie around her waist. Nathan wakes up and changes, and he heads out to school.
"Hey, Hailey," Beth calls out to Hailey. Beth steps in step with Hailey. "So, I was thinking that Mirra, you, and I could have a sleepover again."
"Sounds great. Who's house this time?" Hailey asks.
Nathan walks out in front of Beth and Hailey. Hailey glances up at Nathan. "Hey, Beth? Email me later. I gotta go, OK?" Hailey says quickly then hurries to class.
Nathan looks at his hands.
6 hours later.
Nathan goes home and begins to punch a punching bag until he passes out. Hailey goes immediately to the library and starts working. At the end of the day, her boss calls her over. "Hailey, hun. It's Friday, here's your pay." Hailey stares at the check then hugs her boss.
"Thanks you so much, Ms. Yuri," Hailey says thankfully.
Ms. Yuri chuckles. "No problem. Now, get home; it's getting late." Hailey nods then rushes out the door.
Nathan gets sent through the door by the bullies again. "How many times do I have to beat the shit out of you until you get that you should just leave me the fuck alone?"
Hailey sits on the mattress, staring at the check, wondering what she should do with it. I don't have any student loans I owe at all this year, I somehow payed that all already. Hmm. Food. Yeah, food, Hailey thinks.
Nathan punches the bullies till they become unconscious. Nathan walks up to Hailey and tosses her a bag of non-refrigerated goods. Hailey looks at the bag in her lap and looks up then hands Nathan back the bag. "I've told you plenty of times already. I'm fine." By the time Hailey looked up, Nathan was gone. "Damnit," Hailey curses. She hesitantly looks into the bag. Her eyes widen, and her stomach growls. She then grits her teeth and closes the bag, setting it aside. "No, I'll eat tomorrow." Hailey lays down and falls asleep.
"Damn my unseen power. I know she doesn't want my help but my powers won't let me not help her." Nathan punches the bag until he passes out.
Hailey wakes up with a bad stomach ache but ignores it. She puts the food and the check in her backpack and slips her hoodie over her, heading to school.
