"Sorry I'm late!" Hailey says as she swings behind the desk and starts working.
"Ms. West, we need to talk," Ms. Yuri states.
Nathan appears behind Ms.Yuri and picks up a book from one of the shelves.
"Y-yeah?" Hailey asks, looking up from the computer. Ms. Yuri looks outside and sees two officers.
"I'm going to help you. Can you go with these two gentleman?" Ms. Yuri says. Hailey stares at the officers coming in.
"No. I-I'm not!" Hailey yells.
Nathan walks in front of Ms. Yuri. "She isn't going to go with them and I said that you'll do nothing of this matter." The officers ignore him and reach to grab Hailey, but she dodges then speeds out the back door. Nathan grabs both of the men and sends them through the window. Hailey hears more sirens and sees flashing blue and red lights as she turns down another alley. An officer cuts her off, and grabs her. Nathan appears in front of Hailey grabs her and teleports her to his house. Hailey peeps out the window but ducks to the side when she sees a squad car pass by.
"I-I don't u-understand. Wh-what did I do?!" Hailey stutters.
"She found out." Nathan says "You'll stay here with me till this blows over
Hailey's face hardens and her eyes narrow, her eyes flickering. "And how did she find out, Nathan?"
"She found out when she asked I shouted out why do you want me to help her and I answered then I told her you don't need or want help.
Hailey glares at Nathan but sighs, and her eyes fade out. "OK," Hailey sighs.
"I'm sorry that I ... I said that without being aware of my allowances," Nathan says calmly.
Hailey wipes a hand down her face and glances out the window. "It's fine," Hailey says plainly. Nathan hands Hailey the spare room keys and goes downstairs and begins to punch at the punching bag. Hailey stares at the key in her hands then looks out the window. "I'm leaving after this blows over. I know he wants to help, but . . ." Hailey whispers but trails off. "Why won't I accept help? I mean . . . This is getting ridiculous."
A small golden man appears in front of Hailey. "It's because you don't want him to get hurt." Gold says.
"Well, that is true. But there's so many reasons. It's true, though. What if they run out of money just by helping me? Not only would I be on the streets again, but him and his father." Hailey mutters.
"He and his father makes billions of dollars a day, there is no way that will happen any time soon," Gold says.
"What if they're just like the others that 'tried to help me'?" Hailey asks helplessly. She then glances up at Gold. "How am I even supposed to trust you?"
"I'm one of your mother's best friends."
Hailey's eyes start to fill with tears. "You are?"
"Yes I'm also the one that was put into your friend Nathan to help control his demon side known as black
Hailey chuckles. "Ain't this a small world? A small, cruel world . . ."
"Your mother and Nathan's were also really good friends."
Hailey "Wow . . . Now, I trust you. What do you think I should do?"
"Stay here and accept help from others," Gold holds his right hand "ahg."
"Are you OK?" Hailey asks, concerned.
"Yeah Nathan just punched one of the bags too hard." Gold says
"OK . . . I'm just worried that they'll end up like the others. I have scars because of them," Hailey says.
