"Don't try lying Hailey I'd recognize those eyes anywhere." Nathan says, holds his umbrella over both of them as it starts raining.
Hailey starts shaking and cursing under her breath. "Fine. What do you want?"
"I have a spare bedroom at my house considering that my father isn't ever home." Nathan says.
"No, I'm fine. I was just resting here a bit. I'm going home now," Hailey says, standing up.
"I heard you snoring, and I can tell you're lying about home," Nathan says calmly
"No, I'm not. I have somewhere else other than here. It's . . . drier."
"Show me and I'll leave you be." Nathan says.
Hailey looks around, until she gets an idea. She smirks. "OK. If you can keep up," she challenged, and raced away as fast as she can with all her things. Nathan teleports after her. Hailey stumbles over a tattered umbrella over yet another discarded mattress. "I think I lost him," she breathes out. Nathan places a hand on Hailey's shoulder and teleports them to her house.
They reappear in the alleyway. Hailey looks down. "Nope, I didn't." Maybe I can escape over to that other place I stumbled over. That seems like an OK place.
"Stop trying to escape the truth I'm going to help you and you'll let me." Nathan says as his eyes flicker red and gold
Hailey's eyes go turquoise. "Trust me. I'm fine. Leave me alone," Hailey tells him.
"I would if the nature of my unseen power is to help others," Nathan says shakingly.
Hailey slips her hoodie back over herself and walks away with her things. "Bye, now. See you tomorrow."
Nathan plants a tracker on Hailey's bag without her knowing. Hailey treks back to the other mattress with the umbrella and reluctantly lays down. Did he really leave? Wow, Hailey thinks. Nathan opens up his phone and hones in on the tracker frequency. "I knew she was lying." Hailey falls asleep after a bit of convincing herself that Nathan really left. Nathan lays down on his bed.
