Maddie's POV

I invited Phil to the flat and he almost automatically agreed. Leaving the mall, Phil and I walked back to the flat that I shared with Lilly. I slipped my key into the door and opened the door to find Lilly asleep on the couch while Dan was playing with Ellie.

I walk over to Lilly on the couch.

"Lilly," I say quietly trying to wake her.
Seeing as she didn't wake up when I called her name as she usually does, I turned to Dan and asked if she was ok. I noticed a frown on his face as soon as I asked him that and immediately felt bad as I walked over to sit next to him.
"Something happened at the park and..." he trailed off.
Ellie jumped into the conversation quickly saying, "Sissy beat up a bad guy."
My eyes widened and my mouth dropped.
"Dan is this true?"
"Yes..."
I got up and stormed off into my room, slamming the door. My mind was racing, one question repeating itself in my head.
What if this turns out like last time she got in a fight?
I felt fresh tears streaming down my face, extremely worried about Lilly. Before I knew it, I was balling my eyes out.
I hear a soft knock on my door after a minute.
"Go aw-away."
"Maddie, it's Phil."
Sighing defeatedly, "Come in, Phil."
My door slowly opens and in walks the one person other than Lilly that has a chance of making this better. Phil sits down next to me on my bed and wraps me in his arms. I continue to cry being so worried that something will happen to Lilly.
Phil brushed tears off my face and I lean into him.
"Maddie, what happened?"
"It's...well...the last time..."
"Hey, it's ok. Just breathe. She'll be fine."
"You don't KNOW what happened last time!!! It can't happen again!!!" I started to yell at Phil and cry harder.
Next thing we know, our names are being shouted by Dan from the living room. We rush out there to find Dan over Lilly, crying softly. I make me way to where he is and look down at Lilly on the couch... her chest lies still as if she's not breathing. I look up at both Dan and Phil, horrified.
It's happening again...
I'm so frustrated I run and punch a hole in the wall. I wanted to scream, to run away, but I knew I couldn't. I never could.
"Dan, call the ambulance. Now!"
I kneel by Lilly's side. I remember what the doctors said last time.
"If this happens again, call us right away. She might not have the best chances of making it though."
I took her hand in mine.
"Lil, please don't go. Don't leave us. The doctors will fix you again if you wait for them. What about Ellie? I know you'd want me to take good care of her if you were gone and I promise I will, only when you're gone. Don't leave. Please," I desperately pleaded in her ear.
About five horribly long minutes later the ambulance had arrived at our flat.
Lilly was carried out on a stretcher.
I was crying.
