Chapter 25

Readers p.o.v

I woke up in the morning, Maris arms still tightly wrapped around me. I smiled gently and nuzzled my face into the crook of his neck, but I sighed slightly. Even though I was happy that I had Mari in my life, my life had taken a turn that I had never expected and never planned for.

Joining a pizzeria would be easy, or at least that's what I thought. Just a few screaming children, gooey pizza and creepy robots on the stage. To me it sounded easy and simple but in reality it wasn't. But to me my reality felt like a nightmare, with one corner of light shinning through, which was Mari. My reality was a tormented purple guy which was murdered and turned into a robotic killer rabbit, and one of my friends was near death.

My eyes began to tear up, until I felt Mari move slightly and my eyes were met by two glowing ones

"Y/n..what's wrong?" I began to cry and I hugged him tightly and he pulled me close, holding me in a tight warm embrace. He gently stroked my hair and I wiped my eyes

"I'm frightened Mari...I'm frightened" He then gently held and caressed my cheek and looked at me

"No matter what Y/n I will be here to protect you and I promise that I wont ever leave you" He kissed my head and I smiled and held onto him

"Thank you Mari...I love you"

"I love you too Y/n, I love you so much" I smiled and gently placed my lips onto his and kissed him. He held me close against his body and kissed me softly.

~A few hours later~

Maris p.o.v

Eventually Y/n calmed down which made me happy, but I was also worried about her. She had been through a lot ever since she joined the pizzeria and what she had been through was enough to make anyone go crazy, so I had to keep an eye on her.

I walked downstairs and saw her in the kitchen and I smiled. I walked behind her and hugged her from behind

"Hey babe" She smiled and looked at me then continued to cook. I held her against my body softly and kissed the back of her neck very gently. She smiled and stopped cooking for a moment and turned around to face me. I smiled at her and gently stroked her cheek, but then a thought came to my mind

"Y/n, have you considered leaving the pizzeria?" She looked at me, a slightly surprised expression on her face

"Why would I do that?"

"Its just...I'm getting really worried about you Y/n...what you've seen is awful but it could eventually get even worse and I don't want to lose you.." I looked down but I felt her gently lift my head to face her

"Yes...I have considered leaving the pizzeria, leaving this whole big mess behind me, but I've seen too much to leave. I need to see its happy ending, and help it as much as I can. Otherwise I will have those thoughts and images in my head forever and they wont ever go" I looked at her shocked the nodded "Besides.." I looked at her and she smiled "I have you to protect me" She smiled and I smiled back at her and stroked her cheek

"And I will protect you no matter what"

"I know" I smiled then kissed her gently and she kissed back. I held her hips gently and pulled her closer and she softly wrapped her arms around my neck, but the phone then began to ring and she pulled back. She ran over to her phone and answered it.

Readers p.o.v

I walked over to my phone and picked it up and placed it to my ear

"Hello?"

"Hello Y/n its Dr Adrien again, you and whoever Mari is need to get to the hospital as soon as possible"

"Why has something happened? Is Mike okay have you done the operation?"

"Yes and surgery went fine but now we are more concerened about  his mental condition.."

"Why whats wrong?"

"As soon as he woke up from surgery he has been talking about relasing spirits from their misery otherwise the rabbit will escape and everyone will die" My eyes widened "Does that mean anything to you?" I looked over at Mari with a worried and scared look

"I'm n-not sure"

"Well Mike wont stop asking for you and Mari to see him, he says he needs to talk to you two and you two only so please come as soon as possible"

"I will, thank you doctor" I put my phone down and looked at Mari as he walked over

"Whats wrong?"

"We need to go and see Mike right now" He just nodded at me, then we ran out of my house and got out of my car and drove to the hospital.
