Today is my birthday and everyone is singing even the staff I can't see but I hear. This is Julian's first time seeing me in the hospital he thinks I'm sleeping. Its also Mother's day, that's right I'm my mom's mother's day present.
"Happy birthday too 'Ome Happy
Birthday too you" Everyone sung
"I can't believe your 17 before me" Teo joked placing his hand on mine
"I know how much she wanted that pool party" My mom said
"Even though she won't wear a bathing suit" Leyla added
I laughed inside
"Yeah it's T-shirt and shorts" I'm not sure who said that
After a few minutes of talking about me the nurse made them leave. I thought about what it would be like if I wasn't in coma on my birthday.
I felt a warm hand on mine.
"Listen I'm sorry about doing that to you Ny'Ome the truth is I've always been a bit jealous of how Mateo looked at you even when we were together. I didn't have much of a childhood cause of my mom's boyfriend's and I promise to stay out of your way."

My heart dropped and my soft breathing turned fast. I was hoping I was dreaming. My machine beeped like I was dead.
I finally opened up my eyes and lifted up my body . I was sweating so bad I looked down at my bed and saw me still laying there , like I stepped out of my body. Before I could react I floated up in the air.
.First thing I saw was a big beautiful tree, a tree me and my sister used to sit at in the summer. Then i turned and saw a figure of a man in a suit the man turned. It was my father, I wasn't sure if he could see me. I still ran into his arms he hugged me instantly.
"How old are you......eh ..........15 16?" He asked
"I'm 17 dad" I smiled
"Oh yeah, I would hand you a dollar but we have no money in heaven"
"We're in heaven? Are you telling me that I'm dead" I nearly yelled
"Afraid so, but not for long thou. You see that" he said pointing to a ocean nearby "There's a lot of people who care about you"
I the ocean I saw Teo with his head in his hands and my friends crying but nobody was crying harder than my mom.
"Happy birthday Mami" he said
I blinked and he was gone then I blinked agian and I was laying back in the hospital bed.
"She's breathing" the nurse yelled
I moved my arm up and lifted up opening my eyes. This time I was drowned with hugs.
"Why you scare us like that" Leyla said punching my arm
"Aye you can't beat me I'm light skinned" I said rubbing my arm
Everybody hugged me except for Teo. I turned my attention to my mom she was still in tears. I hugged her.
