Long drives wasn't exactly something Killian Jones enjoyed. Sitting in this uncomfortable seat for hours, the seat belt that didn't allow him to move...no, the pirate definitely knew other things which were more pleasant. But he had had no other choice if he wanted to spend more time with Emma. Hook casted back his thoughts to that one conversation a few days ago....

"...so we wanted to ask you if you wanna come with us for thay week. I guess Emma would like you to come with us, you seem a good....friend to her." Mary Margaret  had pronounced  the word "friend" in a special way. Wanted she to tell him something with that? But before the pirate could think more about it, suddenly a voice from behind sounded.

"What would I like to?" Hook turned around, seeing Emma who just came down the stairs. He nodded at her salutary.

"I asked Hook if he wanted to come with us on holidays. I assumed you would like him to come with us." Mary Margaret explained to her daughter, smiling at her.

Emma looked at Hook. "Yeah, why not? It would be a great idea. But just if he's able to tolerate you and David for one whole week."

Mary Margaret looked at her daughter indignantly. "What do you want to say with that?"  Emma started to laugh, and even Hook couldn't bite back a grin. "You know, your overprotective behaviour, that you want to have planned everything right down to the last detail...". She made a small gesture with her hand.

"Oh, so you think I am overprotective?" Mary Margaret said, looking a little bit offended. "Well, I can also be just the opposite. You can have fun with me, and I'll prove it to you!"

"I'm sure you will." Emma said and hugged her mother from behind, smiling at Hook who returned the smile.

Of course, he had agreed. This was the perfect opportunity to spend time with Emma. He didn't exacltly know if the woman was aware of his feelings for her. Nevertheless, he just wanted to spend time with her, and on holidays he surely would have enough of it.

And then, finally, the day came, and they had parted very early in the morning. Hook had thanked them for taking him with them very cordially, which made him feel kind of odd. Not that he wasn't thankful, but he was more the introverted guy. But the others reacted very kindly which made the pirate feeling relieved.

For the first 4 hours, Hook had been sitting on the back seat between Emma and Henry, secretly enjoying the proximity to the blonde woman. After David changed driver with Emma for a few hours, the pirate had been sitting in the front. But now, after another change of driver, Hook was sitting right at the back, a sleeping Emma and a sleeping Henry next to him. Unfortunately, it seemed that him wasn't given the gift of being able to sleep in a car. So he went on staring outiside, looking at the mountains that kept him passing by and dwelling on his thoughts.

In the late afternoon, they finally arrived at the small house where they would live in for a bit more than one week. "Hey, Swan, wake up." He softly woke up Emma, carefully shaking her shoulders. "Hmmmm?" the woman muttered, still half asleep. Hook laughed and pointed outside. "We arrived. Look, you can see the sea." Emma, who had been rubbing here eyes, now stopped in surprise and looked outside the window. And yes, behind the small house she could finally see the sea.

Hook saw the brilliance that now appeared in Emma's eyes, and he secretly wished that some day he could be the reason for that shining in her eyes.

"C'mon, let's go outisde!" It seemed that Henry also just had woken up, because he now took his mother's hand and pulled her outside the car.

"It looks beautiful, doesn't it?" the boy asked while pulling her mother with him, getting closer to the water. Hook was following them by far, smiling to himself. The Charmings followed with still more distance. When they were all standing next to each other, no one said a word. It was a beautiful sight, the sky was glorious blue and the turquoise water was shimmering because of the bright sun. Even Hook, who had been sailing on so many oceans hadn't noticed his stunning beauty yet.
