The rain was prassling on the roof regularly, and in the distance thunder was audible. Killian Jones was laying in bed and was staring at the ceiling. He let out a sigh. When there was something he didn't like, then it was just doing nothing.
Grunting, he turned around so that he could look outside the window. Black clouds were covering the sky, and on the streets the people were walking with umbrellas in their hands, well wrapped up into their thick jackets. It was still early in the afternoon, but the clouds were making everything seem very dismally.
Killain reached out for his glass of water standing on the nightstand and took a sip. Laborious, he sat up and starred at his left feet. Around it, there was a white cast, which was as annoying as the weather outside.
Two days ago, he had been chasing a thief together with Emma and her father. While they had been running through the woods, trying to catch him, he somehow slipped because of the wet ground. Unfortunately, they had been on some kind of hill, which caused him to fall deep and ruggedly fall on his left feet.
Luckily, David had witnessed his plunge and immediately had brought the cursing pirate to the hospital. Emma had already been gone, so they had left without her. When they had arrived in the hospital, both med hat got a next message where on earth they were and why they had left her "alone in the woods with a thief?!"
David had given her a call while the doctor had been examining Killian's foot. After a lot or cursing words of the pirate and persuasion of the doctos, they finally managed it to x-ray his foot. It appeared that Killian had an ankle fracture. Not a bad one, and luckily he hadn't gotten a torn ligament, but he needed to wear the plaster cast at least six weeks. And he needed to go to physiotherapy.
Emma had been waiting in the corridor until the two men came out of the doctor's room, one of them looking very grumpy and walking with crutches.
"Oh Killian." Emma had just said and carefully had hugged him. After quickly aving talked to the doctor, they had finally left.
Being home again, Emma had condemned him into their bed and had told him to ask if he wanted anything. Of course, Killian, who always stood on being a gentleman, hadn't asked for anything, not wanting to bother his girlfriend. But Emma had brought him something to eat, had helped him as he accidently spilled tea on the blank. And she had brought her laptop with her so that they could watch a movie together.
Killian was so thankful that she was there for him and did everything she could so that he was feeling better. But at the same time, he was feeling so helpless. Of course he had only broked his ankle, but when you aren't able to walk a lot, it's like you wete bed-ridden. At least he had a lot of time for himself now.
But now, two days later, he was already tired of this aloneness. Bugged, he reached out for his phone and switched it on. After having spend the day before with him, Emma had to go back to work the next day. Killian had assured her that he would be fine, that he could take care of himself, even if he wasn't allowed to move a lot. But now, six hours later, he just wished that Emma was with him at home.
Since Emma had taught him how to use his phone, and especially WhatsApp, he used it to text his girlfriend every time they were seperated. So now, he opened WhatsApp and texted Emma.
"When are you coming home, love?😘"
A few seconds later, the word 'online' appeared next to Emma's name. And then, Killian received a response.
"What's up, pirate, you're bored? 😏😂😂"
Killian lifted his eyebrow, but he couldn't help but smile.
