Sam helped Cas into the car before climbing into the drivers seat and driving off.

To say Cas was giddy was an understatement. He was finally getting out the house, going to the pet store to see his animal friends, and he had about another week with his cast before it came off!

"You know I have no clue where I'm going, right?" Sam said as he stopped at a stop sign.

Cas laughed. "Take a right."

Sam turned and eventually with the help of Cas, they made it to the store.

Cas tried to get out himself, but Sam stopped him. "Hurry Sam!"

Sam rolled his eyes and got out. He got Cas' crutches from the back, then helped Cas out.

Cas eagerly took his crutches and started to hurry inside. Sam hurried ahead of him and pulled open the door for him.

Cas walked in and started to smile brightly.

"Cas!"

Sam and Cas turned to the voice. "Michael!" Cas exclaimed happily.

"Hey Cas! How are you? I heard about what happened and I'm so sorry I couldn't come see you sooner." Michael gave him a sad smile as he stepped out from behind the counter.

Cas waved it off. "It's fine. I know how busy it gets in here sometimes. And, I'm doing a lot better." He walked up to Michael and they proceeded to have a conversation, forgetting about Sam.

Sam huffed quietly and started walking around the little store. He looked at the different creatures and smiled. He wished Dean would let them keep some kind of pet, but Dean always told him that they couldn't afford one.

He eventually made his way to the back, where there were kennels filled with different dogs and cats. He peered into each kennel, smiling.

His attention was drawn to a certain dog. It came up to the front of its kennel and stuck its nose through. Sam chuckled and gently touched its nose. The dog started to lick his hand and Sam got excited.

He pulled his hand away and started reading the clipboard that had information on the dog. He learned that it was a girl and a Golden Retriever. His heart broke when he read that she was found on the side of the street, with a broken leg and starving. He reached his hand back in and started to pet her, a few tears in his eyes. He wanted to get her out this place and take her home, but knew Dean would throw a fit about her.

Cas and Michael were watching Sam from the door. Cas had a small smile on his face as he quietly went up to Sam. "She's one of my favorites."

"Did you find her?"

"Yeah. On the side of the road, wet, hungry, and she had a broken leg. I took her to the vet and they fixed her, then sent her here. She was doing a lot better."

"How come no one has taken her yet?"

"Well, I stop them. Cause the one's that look at her, I can tell they won't treat her right. I do that with all the animals. Sometimes, it leads to a couple bruises or worse, but I would definitely rather take the hit than let some defenseless animal get hurt."

Sam looked up at Cas in awe. He never knew anyone that would be willing to get hit instead of letting an animal get hurt. He was falling even more in love with this man, and he couldn't deny it.

"You can get her, Sam. I know you aren't like those other people. " Cas softly said as he placed one of his crutches against the wall. He used his free hand to gently move Sam's hand and open the kennel.

The climbed out the kennel and shook. She sat down and looked up at Cas with her head tilted. She recognized the nice man and yipped. She licked his outstretched hand happily.

Cas smiled and gently pet her. "Hey Lilly."

"Lilly?"

"I liked her so much, I couldn't help but name her."

Lilly wagged her tail then went over to Sam. She jumped up and placed her paws on Sam's shoulders, then licked his face.

Sam laughed and started running his hands through her fur.

Cas quietly walked off and sent a silent nod to Michael. They left Sam and Lilly and went to gather some things for her. Michael followed Cas around, picking up things like food, toys, food and water bowl, a collar, and a leash for her.

Michael wasn't gonna make Cas pay, but since Cas insisted, he rang up the items and Lilly.

"Hey, Cas. Have you heard from your brother lately?"

"Lucifer?"

Michael nodded and his cheeks turned red. "Yeah.."

Cas chuckled. "I did hear from him the other day. He's still offshore, but should be home soon. So you could finally see him." He smirked as Michael sent a glare to him. "I don't understand why you just don't ask him out."

"He would never fall for someone like me."

"You never know. He could be thinking the same thing."

Michael rolled his eyes. "Yeah, right." He finished ringing up everything and Cas paid.

Cas went to the back and smiled at San and Lilly. "Come on Sam."

Sam looked back at him and nodded. He stood up and pet Lilly's head. "Doesn't she have to go back in?"

"Why would she?"

"Because, she- wait. Cas, you didn't.."

"Maybe I did."

"Cas... Is... Is she really ours?!"

"Yes she is Sam."

Sam stared at Cas in shock. The things he wanted to say/do to Cas kept going through his mind, but he couldn't do anything.

Cas laughed. "Come on you two. Let's go home." He walked away.

Sam looked down at Lilly and smiled. "Come on girl!" He hurried after Cas, Lilly following happily.

Cas nodded at the food and things for her when he saw Sam. "I would carry it myself, but..."

"It's definitely fine." Sam scooped everything into his arms then went over to the door.

Cas smiled at Michael. "Thanks for everything, Mike."

"You're welcome, Cas."

They said bye before Sam, Cas, and Lilly left. Sam put Lilly's things in the back and helped Lilly in. He then went and helped Cas, then got in the drivers seat.

"Cas, thank you. Thank you so much."

"You're welcome Sammy. I saw how much you wanted her."

"I love you so damn much."

"And I love you too, Sam."

Lilly yipped, signaling her love for both of them, then licked them both.

(This seriously gives me ideas for a pet shop au or something. Oh, and Michifer. YES.)
