I opened my mouth to say something but Tanya spoke again.
"You wanted the divorce, might I remind you." She said sternly. "He did what he did to make you happy."
Happiness my butt. I remember that day. Though I did not know who he was and though I asked for a divorce, it did not mean he had to agree with it. And even then, he gave me the divorce but despite that, if he loved me, if he cared about me, he wouldn't have been prancing around with all those models.
"Look Tanya." I sighed. "I really, really, really, do not want to talk about this."
She rolled her eyes. "Well you're going to have to. Not necessarily to me but to Matthew." She smirked. "Because like it or not, he still loves you. And you do too. You're just to arrogant and scared to admit it."
"Really! Scared? Arrogant? Really?!" I glared at her. "I don't love him and I do not want to fight with you on this. So let's just, let it go and move on with our lives."
"Okay. Fine. But one more thing." She said still smirked.
"What?" I asked unamused.
"You gotta come closer. It's a secret." She said.
"We're the only ones here." I rolled my eyes.
She didn't budge so I leaned my ear in.
"Matthew loves you." She yelled.
"Ow! Tanya." I pulled my ear away and cupped it. She was laughing like a crazy woman.
A day later and here I was; trying to get Xavier to put on his shoes as we awaited everyone to come.
"Xavier. I mean it. Stop moving and let mommy put on your shoes." I said looking at him sternly.
He was seated on the couch whilst I was crouched in front of him trying to put his shoes on. But he was fussing and moving around making it impossible for me to put them on. Despite my words, he continued to act as he wished.
"Xavier." I said again.
"Ella." I heard from behind me. I closed my eyes and huffed. It was Matthew.
"What?" I gritted.
"Here," He crouched beside me and gestured for me to give him the shoe, "let me try."
I looked at him for a bit. His face looked as if it hadn't been shaved in weeks. Months even. He was growing this manly beard of some sort. I didn't like it at all. But it sure made him look more masculine than ever. I didn't like it but it suited him. However I think the-
"Ella." I heard, snapping me out of my thoughts. "The shoes.." I nodded and gave him the pair.
I stood up and stepped back to let him attempt to put Xavier's shoes on.
"I'm going to go see if the others are here." I said.
"Sure. By the way, Xavier's car seat is in my car. You're welcome to come with us." He said quickly.
I'm welcome to come with them? What? Who did he think he was suggesting that? Of course I had to go with them. Wherever Xavier goes, I do as well.
Without saying anything I made my way to the front of the house where I saw the staff loading Matthew's Range Rover.
I saw Antoine standing there. I walked up to him and crossed my arms over my chest.
"You are on a holiday. Starting now." I said. "You are not coming with us. You are going to stay here and spend time with your girlfriend."
He looked taken aback. Still, he said nothing.
