Hi guys! Firstly I wanted to thank you for reading this book! I appreciate all your wonderful comments and excitement.
Once again, I'd like to stress that I absolutely dislike "please update" comments.
I'm very appreciative to those readers who understood this and give me lovely feedback on my writing but "please update" comments aren't my favourite and I'd just like to put this out there again. Especially because I have "SLOW UPDATES" on the title.
I understand the want for updates but I wouldn't have written that for no reason.
I hope you can all sympathize with me. Thank you.
"The doctors say he's going to be alright." I said to my mother over the phone. "He's got a few cracked ribs, a sprained his ankle and arm, and dislocated his right shoulder. But the doctor said there's nothing to worry about."
"Oh honey. What hospital are you at? We'll be right there." She said.
"No mom. It's fine." I stopped her. "They said he'll be discharged once he wakes and they do a few procedures. So we should be back this evening."
"Alright sweetheart. Take care. Call me if you need anything."
"Yes mother." I looked over and saw the doctor walking towards me. "I'll see you in a bit."
I hung up and looked at the doctor who was now standing in front of me.
"He's awake and we're just running a few formality tests. You can go wait with him while I run the tests, if you wish." He said.
I nodded and he led me to the room. Once we stepped in I saw Matthew lying on the bed with his arm in a sling and his ankle wrapped up.
"Ella." He sat up wincing making me rush over to him.
"Lay back." I said helping him lay down. "You'll hurt yourself even more."
He laid back and kept his gaze on me while I looked over at doctor.
"Okay this will just take me a few minutes and then you can sign the discharge papers and be out of here." He said.
I nodded and the doctor got busy in his task. I looked over at Matthew and sighed.
"I told you not to get on that horse." I said. "Do you like to worry me?"
He smiled and held my hand with his free hand bringing it to his lips.
"At least I know you worry about me." He said in a strained voice and laughed.
"That isn't a good thing." I said. "Besides you could've gotten seriously injured."
"But I am not." He grinned and caressed my hand with his thumb.
I looked down at his hand to see that he had out wedding ring still on. He probably sensed me looking at it as he squeezed my hand.
"Do you still have them?" He was referring to my engagement and wedding ring.
I always do. Around my neck.
I pursed my lips not wanting to tell him. "I didn't throw them away." Okay see. That wasn't entirely a lie.
He nodded probably thinking of what I said.
