"Sweetheart, I think you should get dressed now. People will start coming in soon." My mother said for the third time as she walked into my room where I was fixing Xavier's hair. Daniel walked in with her as well.
Most of the day was spent lounging around and relaxing. It wasn't until about three o-clock that my mother, Daniel, Cheryl and Henry had returned.
Everyone was instructed to get dressed for the evening. Emma had said that she would help Matthew dress. I did not try to deny that one as I knew dressing Xavier would take very long. Especially since all he wanted to do was jump around and play.
"Goodness mother. This is the third time you've told me. I will get dressed after I've dressed your fussy grandson." Xavier made a face at my words and I laughed making a face back. I then looked at Daniel. "Can you please tell your wife to stop nagging me."
Daniel laughed and sat beside Xavier. "Sweetheart, only the bravest will attempt the impossible." He grinned making me laugh. My mother gave him a warning look causing us to chuckle some more.
"You two are so alike." She chuckled. "You have to run after him to get dressed and I, you."
"I don't know what you're talking about." I shrugged.
"Alright, alright. He's done." Daniel said. "Come on buddy. Let's let your mom get dolled up while we go check out the cool games downstairs."
"Games?" Xavier's eyes lit up looking over to me for permission.
"Yes, darling." My mother said.
I nodded. "Watch your step, honey. Don't trip." I kissed him quickly and let Daniel take him out.
"I got you a little something. Wear it and doll yourself up." She said pointing over to the box on the dresser. My mother smiled giving me a kiss on my head. "You deserve all the happiness in the world, my darling." After that she left.
I opened the box and took out the dress she got me.
It was absolutely my style and it was very beautiful. I quickly put it on and loosely curled my hair. As for make up, I kept it natural and very minimal.
Once I was done getting ready, I made my way downstairs. The party was out back so that's where I was going.
Once I made my way there I was surprised to see everything transform. There were games for kids to play, there were vendors to have cool snacks and what not. Cheryl and Henry thought of everything.
I searched for Xavier and saw him playing with Daniel and Henry by one of the games. I smiled and made my way to them.
They were playing the game where you have to toss a ball into a bucket and make sure it stays there.
