"Emma and Nate aren't coming. This can't be good." I mumbled to Tanya and Lindsey as we walked onto the sand.
"Oh stop worrying." Tanya said as she held her stomach with one hand and my hand with her other as we settled onto our towels laid out on the sand. Lindsey sat beside me. "Being together is what they need."
Mother and Daniel with Cheryl and Henry were seated around us. They were all chatting amongst themselves while Alex, Matthew and Chris were with Xavier in the water.
"They don't like each other, Tan." I said.
"Please." She said. "They love each other. They're just going through a tough time. I'm sure they will get past it."
"I hope they do but Tanya, how can you be so sure? Nate hurt her. And by the looks of it, she's nowhere near wanting to forgive him." I said a tad bit annoyed but also reflective. I wish I could explain why I felt this way but honestly, I'm not sure.
"Love is a weird thing, Ella." Lindsey spoke. "You out of all people should know that. What Nate knows but Emma has yet to realize is that no matter how much she may hate him right now, her love for him is far more powerful."
"But-" I stop myself immediately as I realized that I was about to tell them what happened. "I guess you have a point."
But I mean, how can love be so powerful that it can help overlook big differences?
"Babe!" Lindsey smiled as Chris called her signalling her to come in the water.
"Is it cold?" She asked back.
He shook his head.
"Alright ladies. I'm going to go to my guy." She winked making us laugh. She took her wrap off revealing the teal blue bikini she was wearing under while I wore a black one under my loose tank and maxi skirt.
"My guy looks super hot." Tanya smirked.
"I can imagine your son to look just like him. His hair and his eyes. Nothing like you." I joked.
"I know you expect me to hit you right now and argue that you're wrong but I'd be lying if I did that. Truth is, I see that too. I see a mini him." She smiled softly.
I smiled and gave her a side hug. "Your son will be very handsome. I know it."
"You're one to talk. Look at Xavier. He looks just like Matt. His hair, his eyes. He even acts like him. Your son's going to be a heartbreaker." She smiled.
"Just like his father?" I scoffed. "Yeah right. There's no way my son will be like his father and break hearts. He will respect women and treat them right."
Tanya rolled her eyes. "And when has Matt disrespected you? Or treated you like shit?"
I sighed and shook my head. "Leave it. You're going to take his side and then we're going to fight."
