Kate?!

Lexis POV

Gibbs just nodded at Ellie when he noticed her. His phone rang and he hung up about a minute later.

    "Gear up! We have a case" he broadcasted

We all grabbed our gear and followed Gibbs to the cars.

  When we got to the crime scene it reminded me of my parents house.

    "There's a girl, young, I'd say 3-5, under her parents bed, she won't come out" some first responder cop told Gibbs.

   He looked over at me, I nodded a yes and went into the house.

   I saw the bodies when I walked in. A woman and man, shot dead on the floor. All but too familiar to me. I got my head back to the girl.

   I walked into the bedroom, I heard crying and sobbing from under the bed.

    "Hi" I laid down on the floor to see a young girl crying.

     "D-don't hurts me" she sniffles

    "I won't hurt you, I'm a good guy." I laughed.
She smiled a little and crawled a little closer to me.

    "My name is Lexi. What's yours?" I asked

    "Kate" she mumbled

I smiled at her cute little voice.

    "That's a really pretty name." I tell her

    "Guys, is there a back way out of her, I don't want her to see the damage" I spoke into the mic.

    "Yes, take a left when you leave the bedroom, then take a right though the dining room." McGee told me

    "Hey Kate, how about we go see my friends?" I asked

   She then gives me a brave smile and takes my hand. I lead her out of the back door and to Ducky. I know he needs to get to the body but he looks Kate over to make sure she is not hurt first.

    "Question her Lex" Gibbs tells me as they go in to deal with the crime scene.

    "Hey, do you want something to drink?" I ask her.

She nods.

I walk to the autopsy truck and looks in the back where palmer told me he kept drinks.

    "Oh Jimmy" I whisper to myself.

I handed Kate a Capri sun pouch

   "Tanks you" she replies

I give her a sad smile

   "Now hun, did you see the people in your house?"

She shakes her head no

   "Did they have masks on?"

Kate nods yes

Okay so masks,

   "Can you draw me a picture?"

She nods yes, I smile and get her paper and crayons

  She began to draw stick figures and a scene. It took her about fifteen minutes. When she was done I picked up the picture. She drew a cat face for the peoples faces.

   "Were they wearing animal masks?" I question

   "Yes" she whispers

   "Did you hear what they want?" I continued

She took a moment, and shook her head no.
  I looked back at the drawing, she drew the people holding a stick. I grabbed my gun from my waist,

   "Did they have these" I pointed to my gun.
She became scared and nodded yes quickly.

   "It's okay, good guys have these too" I reassured her.

  I went in and told Gibbs what I got out of Kate. Just as I was about to leave the crime scene to go back out to Kate, the home phone rang. Gibbs walked over and answered

   "Hello? Who is this?" He questioned into the phone.

I leaned against the wall.

   "Lexi, it's for you, McGee track the call" Gibbs handed over the phone

    "Hello?" I said

    "I will turn myself in, all of us will, but you have to have a DNA test with the little girl." A altered voice demanded

     "Why?" I ask

He hung up, this guy is as bad as Gibbs with staying on the phone. We both looked at McGee he shook his head.

    "Only got it down to the USA" McGee told us.

    "What he want?" Gibbs asked me

I told him what the guy demanded. My mind and Gibbs thought of the same thing at the same time.

     "That's not possible!!" I yell out

    "It could be" Gibbs began

    "My dad would never have an affair with some woman! He loved my mom!" I bolted out of the door

My heart could not take this. I wish that this all could happen to someone, anyone else but me! What did I do to deserve this! I thought nothing! I couldn't hold back tears. My dad he... he ..he loved my mom. Why would he do this?!!!?

     I sat on a rock out front for about fifteen minutes. Then Gibbs walked out.

    "Lexi..." He sighed

I looked up at him, he handed me a paper. I looked at it. It had my dad's name on it and my old address...

I swallowed a lot of emotions. He said he loved her, till death do them part. He sat down next to me.

   "I don't know why everything happens to you" he tells me.

  I shrug I really don't know either..

     "Let's go get the test done." He stood up and took my hand.

We walked over to where Kate was sitting.

    "Hi Kate. This is my half dad, Gibbs" I smiled the thought it was true, he cared like a father.

   "Hello" she mumbled

   "We got to make sure your not sick, let's go" she ran up to me an hugged my wast.

    "I'm scared! I miss mommy and daddy where are they?" She cried into my shirt.

It broke my heart. She didn't know about her parents and I really didn't want to tell her.

    "We'll talk about that in a little." I calmly told her and I hugged her back.

She took my hand and we walked to Gibbs car.

     We got to the doctors, Gibbs went to tell them about the situation. I took Kate's hand, they are going to take some blood, just a little, it will be like a shot. I'll be with you. She just nodded a yes as a reply.
