•Brinley's POV•

I've officially been in Canada for three days.

And for three days Justin and I haven't talked.

Not a single phone call or text.

Honestly, I miss him so much. Yet he straight up told me I was "a little too young" for him making me want to ignore him.

Not that I have to because he hasn't tried to contact me anyway.

"Hey Brinley?"

I turn around to see Carson and probably one of the most attractive boys I've ever seen standing next to him.

"This is my cousin, Derek. He just moved to town."

Derek's green eyes bore into mine as he smiles.

"Oh.. Hi, I'm Brinley. I'm one of Carsons best friends."

"It's nice to meet you, I've heard a lot about you. You're even more beautiful in person." He says confidently and I swallow hard as Carson nudges him a bit.

"Thank you." I say shyly and smile slightly before I look around awkwardly; not sure what to do next.

"Brinley can we have a little chat?"

I look up at the sound of Vanessa's voice and I know I'm in trouble. I can tell by the tone of her voice, she's pissed.

"Uh.. Sure."

I glance a Carson before quickly following her into her house.

We were all outside, just hanging out to get some fresh air.

"Is everything okay Nessa-"

"What the hell is wrong with you?!"

I widen my eyes as she turns around and looks at me with an angry look on her face. Her hand is gripping onto her phone and I raise my eyebrows.

"I.. Don't know what you're-"

"The poor boy was defending your relationship and you left because he said a small thing about your age?"

Now it dawned on me.

"He told me I was too young."

"Yes, but are you forgetting the part where he said no to a girl that was begging to fuck him? Or did that just slip your mind?"

I sigh and cross my arms.

"Vanessa you don't have to yell at me."

Her features soften and she gives me a sincere look.

"I'm sorry. It's just.. Do you know how hard it is for him? He literally has girls throwing themselves at him left and right Brinley. And yet he still chooses you."

And I still question why every day. What the hell is so special about me?

"I trust him enough to know he'll stick up for our relationship when needed. He's proven it many times."

We both stay quiet for a while before I sigh and shake my head.

"You know what, it doesn't even matter. He's clearly enjoying that I'm gone because I haven't received a single text or phone call from him."

Vanessa gives me a guilty look and I raise my eyebrow at her.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" I ask suspiciously and she bites her lip before shaking her head and flopping down on the couch behind her.
