-Your Point of View-
"Wow...some night.." I sighed sarcastically and stared into the crackling fire. My eyes wondered to the Christmas tree shining brightly in the corner. I never suspected to be spending Christmas Eve alone. Even Christmas alone. Hunter was offered to preform with like all the way across country, it was an opportunity he was going to miss. I was proud of him, sure.. But it did get lonely. I looked around our living to see picture of us all over the walls. Our first date, our wedding, everything was there.... but I'd do anything to have him here with me right now. Sighing, I shut of the Christmas tree lights and put out the fire. Slowly I climbed our winding stairs to our bedroom. I climbed under the cold sheets, wishing I was wrapped up in his warm arms. I stared at his pillow sadly, before closing my eyes and falling into a restless sleep.
The next morning I came downstairs surprised to see the Christmas was already lit up, the fire was roaring, and a steaming mug of coffee on the table. Confused and slightly scared I made my way to the coffee. Beside the mug was a note, it read, "Madison, I saw you were feeling blue. Follow this clues, I have something waiting for you. -Santa"
"What the..." I whispered. I flipped the card over to see a picture of Hunt and I. "That picture is hanging in the guest room." I quickly ran down the hallway to the room. Running up to the picture I saw a sticky note taped to it. This note read, "So far so good my dear, don't hear? Go make some sweet tunes, it might all come to you.. -Santa."
I pondered this note for awhile. "Hear..tunes..?" Then it clicked. Our home studio. I ran out of the hallway, down the basement stairs and into the studio. My eyes searched frantically before landing on a pick sticky note stuck on my guitar, carefully I plucked it off.
"You're getting warmer my dear, but how warm our you? -Santa"
I laughed at this, for this was an inside joke from Hunter and I. Right then my heart skipped a beat. Hunter...was this all his doing?! Quickly I made my way to the hot tube, the setting of the inside joke. On the thermostats was another sticky note.
"There's a present waiting for my love. -Santa."
With my heart pounding fast I walked back into the living room to see a bright golden package with a pretty bow on top. I kneeled down to unwrap it. Inside was a small precious box. Slowly I lifted the lid. Inside was a gorgeous ring.
"Marry me?"
I whipped around to see Hunter standing behind me, wearing a Santa hat. With my breathe in my throat I choked out, "yes!" than ran into his arms.
"Merry Christmas, Madison."
