As I finished cleaning up myself, I couldn't help but think about what happened. I got beat up by someone I didn't even know and I hooked up with a guy in one day. Did I say yes because my thoughts were all over the place, or because he made a move on me? I was confused.

I quickly shook it off, and walked out behind Eddie as he said some kind of Spanish words I didn't understand. I took a look around the apartment, to grasp what kind of environment Eddie lived in.

It was nothing too big, just a living room connected to a dining room, a small kitchen, a bathroom, and two bedrooms, one that looked like it was bigger than the other. As I went to stand awkwardly in the living room, Eddie gestured for me to sit down at the dining table. There were plates set up around a rectangular table, with a variety of delicious-smelling food. But something looked different than it usually would at a table. There were four chairs, instead of two. Even more intriguing, but in front of one chair there was an empty plate set up.

"Are you waiting for your father to join you? S-should I leave?" I stuttered. Eddie's mother laughed, and a faint giggle was heard from Eddie as he spoke up, "Naw. My dad doesn't live with us anymore. My madre lives by herself now." I gave him a confused look, and he quickly sputtered between a gulp of water, "I live with my friends now, since I'm eighteen! But that doesn't matter, come on and sit down!"

Yet, as if on cue, I felt a vibration in my jean pocket, and quickly fished my phone out of my pocket. It was a text from my mother saying that she would be at home in an hour, and my father is coming to get the remaining things of his from the house tonight. I sighed, keeping a mental note to stay in my room for the rest of the night.

When I lifted my head up, Eddie was just staring at me with his head tilted to one side. Like a puppy. I waved my phone in the air and he seemed to know what I meant. He turned to his mom and said something in Spanish again. The only words I picked up were "caminar", my name, and "casa". Whatever those meant.

Eddie got up and walked out of the apartment after me, and the whole way he walked he told me the stupidest puns I've heard of.

----

"One-one more! Please!" Eddie said between loud laughs as he stopped walking on the sidewalk.

"Are you serious‽ Fine," I groaned loudly. Seriously, these dumb jokes are the worst I've heard.

"Okay, okay... What's Walter White's favourite meal of the day?"

"I-I don't know, what?"

Eddie started cackling uncontrollably before he even said the punch line, "Breaking-fast!"

"GOD DAMMIT EDDIE!" I yelled at him as he laughed harder. I waited for him to calm down before even muttering a word.

When he was done laughing at his joke, he looked around at the trees. I didn't realize the leaves were changing colours until he looked around. When he was done, Eddie stared at me again with a warm smile, with his thumbs tucked in his pocket.

Eddie started stuttering and slouched a bit. "Uh, this is as far as I can take you, dude. I don't-uhm-know how to get to your house. That's okay, right? Or do you need me to walk with you all the way to your place?"

I gave a small chuckle. Wow, he seems so cute when he's clueless. I nodded, "Yeah, I know how to get back from here. I'll see you tomorrow, right?" He gave me a curt nod and smiled a bit bigger, showing his teeth. When I was about to continue walking, Eddie suddenly wrapped his arms around me, giving me a warm hug. I was slightly shocked, but embraced him as well. He lightly rested his head on top of mine and slightly rocked back and forth on his heels. He was so warm, it burned my skin. But I didn't mind it at all.

After what only seemed like a millisecond, he let go of me and tapped my nose before walking away. Before he was too far, I called out after him, "Я люблю тебя!"

(I love you!)

----

I was smiling the whole walk home and as I unlocked the front door and stepped in. But my smile soon faded as I remembered who was coming by. I glanced up at the silver clock that was hanging next to our TV, and realized that I took my time getting back to my household. I started upstairs, suddenly wincing at the pain in my ribs that I didn't feel until now.

I flopped down onto my bed as soon as I opened my door. Suddenly remembering the permanent marker writing scribbled on my arm, I quickly put a name into my contacts under that number, and immediately sent a text to the number:

Sent at 4:52 PM to "Eddie": Message sent.

No less than three minutes later, I got a reply.

Received at 4:55 PM from "Eddie"

yay u got home okay! :3 how r u feeling? better than earlier? :D

I smiled slightly at my screen. Hours passed, and I didn't even hear my mom come in the house. I only time I missed a text was when I went downstairs to eat. I fell asleep early talking to Eddie. The last message I got was:

Received at 10:01 PM from "Eddie"
