After a confusing drive of Eddie going down the wrong roads, almost rear-ending tons of people, and skidding on the just melting ice, we finally made it to the restaurant in one piece. As I got out of the car, I looked about the parking lot. Most of the cars were new or cleaner models, while ours was a worn down 2010 Volkswagen. It really didn't bother me too much, though, at least we would find the car easier.

"It's more fancier than I thought! I've never been here before..." Eddie exclaimed.

I rolled my eyes and frowned, "Are you telling me you've NEVER been to Olive Garden? There's defiantly way more fancier shit than this place. You usually don't need a reservation."

But, in all honesty, I secretly liked seeing Eddie so happy over what seemed like something so small to a lot of others. He turned to me and tried to mimic my facial expression. I snickered, and started smiling as he slipped his hand into mine. I didn't pull away, even as a woman trotting to her car gave us a look that seemed traced with disgust.

As we walked in, we were greeted by a warm and smiling face behind a podium. The woman pushed up her black-rimmed glasses and seized scribbling lines onto a small paper. She stood up straight and rested her hands on what looked like a leather folder. When we were in front of her, she quickly turned around to a red-head waiter with a tray in her hand and murmured something, then quickly turning back to us.

"Uh, it'll take about an hour to get a table, sorry." The woman said, and gave us an apologetic shrug.

I turned to Eddie, waiting for him to respond. All he did was wave his hand at her and said cheerfully, "We have a reservation! Last name is... Cardona!" He paused on his last name like he had forgotten it.

All the girl did was open up the leather folder, graze her finger over a piece of paper and sighed, "Well, looks like you are. Okay, follow me to your table!"

With one hand she fixed the chopsticks keeping her blonde bun up, and with the other she plucked a smaller leather folder from the side of the podium and started walking away, with Eddie and I sheepishly following.

When we were seated in front of a table with a satin white cloth, the lady told us that someone would come and get our orders soon. As fast as we were seated, another girl was back with the same folder the last girl had carried with her. She smiled and flipped her unnatural red hair out of her eyesight, and after she gave us our drinks, we were left alone for a while, waiting for our food. All we had to do was talk to keep us busy.

We mostly laughed, and talked about video games. Eddie started to ramble on about Pokemon; some kind of games I had never gotten into. Yet, I had listened to him nonetheless. Eventually, we just... Stopped talking. All we did was take in each other, and the silence between us.

I started to remember that one list I had made the day I met him. His dark hair, his unnaturally white teeth, the way he laughed... It all came back to me, and he's still just like how I met him.

I really liked him. Not like the middle school like like ordeal, where you tell someone you like them and you both stop talking for the rest of your life. A real feeling in my heart.

"I love you," I whispered to him, suddenly. Eddie stared at me for a second, his slight smile soon turning into an ear-to-ear grin. He blushed a bit, and said in a bubbly voice, "I love you, too."

My heart skipped a beat when I heard those words. At that moment, I finally decided.

This was the man I wanted to be with for the rest of my life.

"Oh my gosh, sorry this took so long!" Our waiter interrupted, she was obviously rushing to get our food out to us. It was actually impressive, how the girl could keep our food on the tray. In the panic, she also seemed to now have a noticeable accent. Eddie looked at her and smiled, as if he was accepting her apology.

With one hand, she took one of the plates and dropped it down in front of me. Whilst I got a more diverse dinner-chicken scampi-Eddie had just gotten spaghetti. It made me feel somewhat bad, due to the fact my meal was more expensive.

The waitress smiled, and left us for one more time to eat our dinner together. On my first first date with Eddie.

----

"Oh my gosh," Eddie gasped, "That was so GREAT!"

Eddie and I were just getting into our car, ready to leave. Before I could open the door, Eddie reached over and pulled the handle for me. I looked up at him, a sly smile painted on his face.

"That's so fucking gay, dude," I laughed. As I got into the car, I realized around us that the snow that was melting earlier had gotten colder, and turned to ice again. My thoughts were cut short when Eddie got into the driver's seat, and turned the ignition. The engine rumbled, and we were on our way back to my place.

As the drive went on, the roads got worse. We were talking to each other and learning about one-another to get our minds off of possibly dying in a car.

Eddie griped the wheel tightly as he continued to tell me why his father had left. He said that it was for work, and he didn't want to drag the family out of the United States again.

"Are you okay with him leaving, though?" I said softly. I honestly felt bad for him, his father seemed like a great guy.

He smiled slightly, "Nah, it didn't really bother me too much. I mean, I miss him, yeah. But who wouldn't miss their own father?" Eddie turned to me, taking his eyes off the road for a second, "And what about your dad? What is he like?"

I thought for a second. I didn't know how bring it up to him, what my father had done to our family. I looked up at him and spoke, "My father, he wasn't--"

I quickly turned my head, after seeing something out of the corner of my eye. A van was coming at us, full speed. The tires were lifted from the ground, and the roof of the van was coming straight towards us. I could only scream Eddie's name as he tried to swerve out of the way, but our tires couldn't grip on the pure ice under us. I continued to scream as the van was hurled into the passenger's side of our car.

The only thing I could remember was the faint sobbing of my name, and sirens.

AAAAAAA I FINALLY WORKED ON THIS!!!! It's not the best, so cut me some slack. There's probably some mistakes (I rly need someone to edit my works oh my gosh). It was hard to write the last part as well. Kind of based it from real events //laughs nervously

But, I super hope you like. Check out my other book "A Freaks Journal" for occasional updates on this fic and my Corrupted Creature Hub collab.
