LATER that day, Carolyn decided to go back to the Kingsman Mansion and let Harry do the rest with Eggsy. Besides, she also wants to know who will be recruited by her grandfather since she refused to be a candidate.
"Did you see the news?" Carolyn asked, sitting at her grandfather office while reading a book. "Another artist disappeared during Valentine's movie premiere."
"Already heard about it." Arthur replied. "Why?"
"Aren't you going to send one of your agents to find out about it? You used often to intervene."
Arthur shook his head, "I wouldn't risk my agents just for that. That's for the police to solve it."
She rolled her eyes, "Of course you'd say that."
"Have you already applied for any job?" He changed the topic. "As far as I'm concerned I don't want to see you become a jobless."
"Yes. I applied at the London Bridge Hospital."
"So? Do you get the job you want?" Arthur questioned.
"Stop asking about me, would you?" She scoffed. "I'm here just to ask who the candidate you choose, not to be interrogated like that."
"Charles Hesketh." Arthur answered briefly.
Her eyes widened as she jerked forward, "Who?"
"Charles Hesketh." He repeated, smiling at her.
It was beyond her allegations. Of all people, how could Arthur recruit an annoying posh boy like him? She had met Charlie a few times after a few months she moved here, but none of their meeting was memorable. She remembered that one night she had accepted his offer to go on a date, but what did she get? Only the chatter that didn't stop all night about how rich his parents are and how attractive he is among girls. He also suddenly left her alone in the restaurant on the grounds of his mother calling, when the fact is he was about to escort a girl to go home. And that was it. She banned him from her life, thinking that she didn't need people like him in her life. And now her grandfather even recruited him to be a substitute for Lancelot. Unbelievable.
"Carolyn, what a coincidence." Merlin greeted her as she walked through the hall. "Do you know where Galahad is?"
She raised an eyebrow, stopping in front of the door where all the candidates are, "Still not arrived? That's weird. He said he would go straight to here with his candidate."
"It's almost the time." Merlin said as he checked his watch.
"Well, he's always late, isn't it? Just wait for a while." She suggested. "Uh Merlin, may I come in? I want to meet someone."
"Ah, let me guess, your ex-boyfriend?"
"Jesus, he's not my boyfriend."
Merlin nodded with a smile, "Please come in, Ma'am."
