PART TWO

Dan's POV: (same day)

I grab my duffle bag and fill it with a week's worth of clothes. I can hear Phil quietly practicing the song I taught him on the piano. Without him noticing, I walk out of the closet and tiptoe to where he is sitting. Phil's hands glide softly across each key. He has his eyes closed in concentration. He sways lightly to the music his hands create. I admire his beauty. When the song is close to being done, I carefully finish the last notes. Phil jumps in surprise.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," I say sheepishly.

"It's alright. I didn't hear you walk in," he says.

I bend down and kiss the top of his head. "That was lovely. You should play more often," I complement him.

"Not as good as you, though," he smiles shyly, "I'll only play more if you teach me."

I chuckle. "Deal."

"Dinner's ready!" my mum calls from down stairs.

Phil and I decided to eat dinner with my parents since we're too lazy to cook or get takeout. We make our way down stairs and into the dining room.

"It's so nice to see you again, Phil," says my mum with a smile.

"Agreed. We haven't seen you in a while," agrees my dad.

Phil blushes. "Thank you. It's nice to see you both as well. Dan and I have been busy studying for the exams, so I haven't had time to stop by. We finished our last exam today so, expect to see me more." We all laugh.

After dinner, Phil and I say goodbye to my parents and then make our way back to his house. I immediately turn on the light and close the curtains in his room. I shudder at the sight of the dark forest.

"What was that about?" Phil asks, looking amused.

"Nothing!" I answer way too fast.

He narrows his eyes and stares at me for what feels like forever. I push him in the direction of the bathroom. "It's getting late. You should take a shower," I try to change the subject. He just continues to stare me down.

It's like I can see the light bulb go off in his head. "Oh my god! That's it! You're scared of the dark, aren't you?"

"N-no I'm not!" I lie quickly.

"Aww, my poor baby!" Phil says as he hugs the life out of me. I just stand there with the reddest face ever. "Why haven't you told me this before?"

"Because it's a stupid fear. Plus, it's not just the dark. It's the dark and trees." I shudder once again.

"How have you survived going to the cottage?" he asks as he pulls back to kiss my cheek.

"It's in the daytime so there's light outside. And I'm with you so you makes it easier to handle," I confess.

A small blush crosses his cheeks as he smiles at me.

"Anyway, it is getting late so hurry up and take a shower so I can shower after... unless you want us to shower together," I say as I wiggle my eyebrows cheekily at him.

Phil's face turns bright red. He runs away from our embrace and straight into the bathroom. "No thanks!" he yells. I laugh at his reaction.

While he takes a shower, I hang my clothes in a little section of his closet. He exits a few minutes later. I bring my pajamas (which are just boxers and an oversized white t-shirt) with me and shower.
