I stared in shock. I had done it again. It had been purely by accident, I'm sure! I put the remote back where it originally had been when I heard the front door open "I'm home" my mum called from the kitchen. I instantly got up and walked towards the kitchen, trying to get away from the crime scene, feeling incredibly guilty. My mum strode into the lounge room before I reached the kitchen, and sat on the couch, she reached for the remote and I felt scared, and guilty again. I half expected her to start yelling at me, and to start telling me I was a freak. But instead she grabbed the remote and started flicking the channel, till she found something good. I sighed with relief- I think it was relief anyway.

"Have you started packing yet?" She asked me, while I slid in next to her.

"Umm, a little"

"Evie" She said in a disapproving tone, making a tsk tsk noise.

"What I still have a week till I have to go," I said dismissively.

"You've had almost two weeks to pack, seeing as how you're on holidays-" she said poking me playfully in my stomach"-and now you've only got 5 days left to pack that humongous amount of material, you call clothes, ready to go"

It had been almost two weeks now since I had received the letter saying I had been accepted to St Waverton Academy. An exclusive boarding school in Southern California. I was still suspicious about the whole situation, I mean 1. I had never even heard of St Waverton Academy, 2. I didn't apply to Waverton, 3. My mum rang my school and asked if they had sent my application, which they claim they hadn't, 4. When my mum rang Waverton they claimed that they chose only specific students from all around the country and had high standards (which if you ask me explains nothing!) from which my mum got really excited and started saying "I always knew you were special!" and "think of what colleges will think if you graduate from Waverton! "Which basically left my mum feeling excited (she couldn't wait to tell all her friends) and left me feeling confused and suspicious.

"I don't even want to go," I said quietly while pouting.

"Oh Evie don't start again" My mum said angrily, this was a conversation we had had more than once.

"But I didn't even apply!" I said like a little kid who just got told to go to their room.

"Evianna Patricia Bridgton! You are going to St Waverton academy! You were accepted to Waverton, which is one of the most exclusive schools, and one of the top schools I might add, in the whole country! And it's not even that expensive! If you think I would let you NOT go there, you're mad!" My mum yelled, putting an end to the conversation.

I went to my room and started to pack, even though I could barely see through my tears of rage, which had spilled over the edge of my eyes. Urgh, I hated crying.
