Back to Evie's POV
I walked to my next class trying to sway past all the other bodies crowded in the corridor. I'm about to go to my 3rd class of my first day, and I've already been late, but it was because I couldn't find the room. I was walking with Scarlet, who even though was Minnie's friend, was still nice.
"Oh my gosh, did you see Rachel Nasheted's skirt, it was like really high. I mean at the end of last year it was just above her knees, now It's barely past her butt, and she hasn't grown much" Scarlet said as she was getting pushed around by all the people, we were trying to get past.
"Yeah, I did. Isn't she friends with Sage"
"Sorta. Well, she kinda follows Sage, and Sage likes that. But I just think she's a wannabe" Scarlet said just as there was a break in the crowd, and we walked through, before getting knocked by a bunch of guys, walking the other way.
"Well, I don't really know her. But yeah she kinda seemed like a try hard" I responded just as we slid in the door of our maths class, there were only a couple of other people in there, so we sat at the back and continued our conversation.
"So how are you getting along with your roommates?" Scarlet said subtly, not taking her gaze off her book that was open in front of her.
"Fine" I said, my voice too high.
"So are you friends with Maive Velosfty or whatever her name is?"
"Yeah, she's cool, I don't get why Minnie hates her so much. Do you?" I asked trying to be just as subtle as her.
"Yeah, but it's a long story"
"We have time, I just wanna get why they hate each other so much"
"Ok, but don't tell Minnie I told you"
"Pinkie swear" I said smiling, Scarlet laughed.
"Ok, so it was like 2 years ago, I didn't go here then, so this is only from what I've heard" Scarlet paused.
"Go on" I said nodding.
"Well, Minnie was in 9th grade, and apparently she wasn't so.........popular and stuff. Well, Maive came in the middle of the 2nd semester and she Became really good friends with Minnie. Like apparently they were really close, and they started to become really popular as well. But then Minnie like brought this other girl into their group, well Sage. And well 3's a crowd, and it wasn't going to work, and Sage was......Well Sage, she was..........Or is well skanky, and Minnie became more like her. But Maive didn't like Minnie would always start ditching Maive for Sage, until one day she told Maive that the only reason that she even hung around with her was because she had felt sorry for her coz she was the new girl. And like when I said that Minnie and Maive were close, I mean really close. So then Minnie became the popularest girl in school, and Maive became..........Emo-ish. Like she dyes her hair black all the time, and always wears heaps of eyeliner and stuff. But when Minnie ditched Maive, it was like one day besets of friends to Minnie treating Maive like she was nothing, not like nothing, like whenever she saw her then she would always call her things. And coz Minnie knew all of Maive's secrets she used them against her. Like everything she knew about her, like her parents divorce, she would always say things to her about that, and yeah, now they hate each others guts" Scarlet concluded
"That's so..........Cruel, why would Minnie do that?" I said in a detached voice, thinking back to when I had asked Maive if she had been friends with Minnie, and she told me to drop it. That's it I officially hate Minnie now.

"So why are you friends with Minnie then?" I asked Scarlet as we left maths, our next classes were next to each other, her English, me history. Scarlet shrugged.
"I don't know, she's cool sometimes, you know"
"Coz she's popular, you mean" Scarlet gave me an incredulous look.
"What? As if!" Scarlet said as she stormed off towards her next class, leaving me standing in the corridor, getting pushed around. But somehow I knew that was the truth, Scarlet was too smart for that crowd, it must be because she wants to be popular. Because after hearing that story, why would anyone want to hang around with a person like that.

It was lunchtime and we were all sitting in the cafeteria, trying to have a conversation over all the noise. I learned that people here really follow by example. Because Minnie hates Maive, so does everyone else.
"Loser" Someone 'coughed' as they walked past the table we were sitting at, Maive jut poked out her tongue revealing another piercing, on the tip of her tongue.
"Hi, Evie" Minnie said in a little girl's voice, as she walked over to the table I was sitting at.
"How are ya?" Minnie asked leaning on the edge of the table, like she owned it.
"Fine Minnie, how's your first day back?" I said in a little girl's voice right back to her, and smiling, but not a hey good friends smile, a 'look I just got you in trouble on purpose smile'.
"Oh, Maive so nice to see you again! How's daddy?" Minnie said, in a 'kind' voice looking fake sad at the end.
"Oh look at the time, I have to go speak to normal people now, bye bye" Minnie said in a sing song voice, waving as she turned away.
"As I said before she is a Cow!" Maive said, looking undisturbed by Minnie's comments

Scarlet's Pov
Minnie came and sat back down, laughing, not even caring if she had hurt Maive's feelings.
"Don't you even care if you make her like upset?" I asked raising my eyebrows
"No" Minnie said lightly, as she grabbed some carrot sticks and began nibbling on them.
"Why do you have to be such a Cow!" I said standing up, and noticing the entire rooms eyes on me, whops maybe I had said it a bit loud.
I don't know what had set me off, but after Evie asked me why I was friends with her, it brought back the memories of summer holidays. Were every time I had planned to meet up with Minnie, she had ditched me for Sage or January? But I always said, 'oh it's auk, I understand' when I should have said 'that's the third time in 2 weeks, I was standing at the front of the mall for an hour, and you didn't even call'.
"Excuse me!" Minnie said standing up to, in an outraged voice.
"Bye Minnie" I said as I left the cafeteria not looking back.
