I walked back towards my dorm room, with Minnie and Maive, following silently behind. They hadn't really said anything since we left Mr Stevignton's office.
"So,umm.......How do you two know each other?" I said trying to make conversation, well just trying to get rid of the awkward silence. Then wishing I hadn't because from the noise I could now hear coming from behind me, that was obviously the wrong question to ask.
"I know it IS weird that I know this s-l-u-t-Y-" Maive spelled it out slowly "-Cow IS a mystery, even to me" Maive said the last part dreamily.
"What did you call me?" Minnie yelled outraged.
"Oh my gosh you did NOT just called me what I think you called me!"
"S-L-U-T!" Maive yelled right into Minnie's face.
"Yeah, well..........I know you are but what am I?" Minnie said back childishly.
"I know you are, but what am I? You Are such a baby!"
"I know you are but what am I?" Minnie said, her hands on her hips, acting...Well acting superior, if you ask me.
"Cow!"
"I know you are but what am I?"
"SK-ank!"
"I know you are but what am I?"
This went on all the way back to our dorm, I'm starting to regret coming with them to the office. And just think, I'm going to be living with them for the whoooooooooole year.

"So, why do you hate Minnie so much?" I asked Maive curiously.
I was sitting on the edge of my bed while Maive put her clothes away, and put the sheets on her bed. Minnie was off with one of her friends in Parks common room, which meant that Maive wasn't acting so hostile and aggressive.
"I just do okay?" Maive said, aggressively, I didn''t say that she was being NICE, just not as aggressive as usual.
"She is kinda shallow, but she's not mean or anything......well to me" I said, trying to get her tell me why.
"Yeah, coz you're the new girl, it'll wear off, than she won't be so nice to you" Maive, said all this like she knew EXACTLY what she was talking about, like she had that happen to her.
"Is that what happened to you?" I said quietly, she looked up at me, and tilted her head to the left, looking confused. She looked at me for a while not saying anything.
"Maive?" I said breaking her concentration. She went back to tucking her sheets in.
"No, course not"
"Really? Coz it would explain a lot"
"Look, just drop it ok?" Maive stopped and looked up at me as she said it.
"Ok, I just want to become not.........not friends with you, if were going to be sharing a room together for a year. I think we should get along with you somewhat" I said, trying to think if it all made sense.
"I don't want, or ne-e-ed to be friends with you" Maive stated it like it was a fact, she went across to the other side of the bed to tuck her sheets in, with her back now to me.
"Need? Well, I'm a sociable person so I like to be friends with people. And anyway They way I think of boarding school is like, laughing around, with the girls in your room, being FRiendS with the girls in your room. You know stuff like that" I said it uncaring what she thought of me.
"Yeah well you can think that all you want, nut it ain't gonna happen"
"Well, I'm friends with Minnie, and I want to be friends with you" I said annoyed.
"Not as long as you're friends with her" Maive said sitting on the bed and putting her pillow case on her pillow.
"So, what do you like?" I said in a sugary sweet voice, ignoring the hostile responses she was giving me.
"Well, let's see,I like, hmm, Listening to my ipod, ohhh, singing and dancing, and rainbows and ohhh ohhh ohhh, kittens and puppy's!" Maive answered in a little girls voice adding heaps of sarcasm, while she sat on the end of her bed crossing her fingers in her lap.
"Ha ha" I said sarcastically, I started laughing. Maive started laughing as well.
"See Fwends" I said smiling stupidly, Which made Maive laugh even more.
"So do...............you know what you-" Maive said after we had stopped laughing, I cut her off.
"-Can do? Everyone keeps trying to ask me that, until someone else cuts them off" I said, felling annoyed again.
"oh.............well, I'll ask you in oh say about a week"
"Umm,ok" I said confused again.
"So who do you hang around with here?" I asked trying to change the subject.
"Umm, well you probably don't know them"
"Ohhh well I might, I went to some massive party last night and-"
"-My friends wouldn't have been, there" The way Maive said 'there' was like there was something wrong with it.
"Oh well, what are there names, I want to meet people, or at least know people" I said smiling.
"Hmm, Well I hang around with Clarissa mostly and then there's also Annalee and Emma and I'm also friends with umm....... Well, Isabella, Parker, Mitchell, Camille, Nicola Mallory.......And a lot more" We laughed.
Just then Minnie barged in, when she saw the two of us sitting across from each other laughing.
"Evie, can I talk to you for a minute. Outside?" Minnie narrowed her eyes at Maive.
"umm...sure, I'll be back in a minute Maive"
I walked outside and closed the door, once I did Minnie started questioning me.
"What are you doing?"
"Talking?" I said it as a question as if I wasn't sure that was the answer Minnie wanted.
"Are you two friends now?"
"Umm.......Should I be?" I asked confused, ready to run if I needed to.
"NO! She is a Freak! She always sits with her weird friends, and they barely even wear make up or anything! Seriously, last year, there was this guy, and I told him to pretend to like her, and to go out with her. You should have seen it he kissed her, than was all like 'I was just joking, I would never like you' and we all came out and were all laughing. Then all she did, was her cheeks went really red, and she is like 'good, coz I don't even like you, I only went out with you coz I felt sorry for you, Now I can finally leave!'. It was really weird, we didn't know weather to laugh, or if she was laughing at us" Minnie didn't even whisper, even though, Maive was on the other side of the door.
I didn't know what to do, I couldn't believe that Minnie had done that to Maive. It was so cruel. Suddenly I started to dislike Minnie, she was nice to me, but it doesn't seem like she's nice to anyone else.
"Umm, yeah, weird" I said agreeing with her.
I opened the door and slid back in, after Minnie had left, telling me to ditch the 'freak'.
"What was that about?" Maive said, not looking as cheerful as before.
"Nothing, you know" I said dismissively, feeling like I had betrayed Maive somehow.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you something" I said trying to be as cheerfull as I as before.
It was weird, I mean I had the option to be popular if I wanted to, or I had the choose to be a loner at the same time. In one small step I could be either, it was unsettling, but I felt powerful at the same time, I had the choice that so many people wish they had, it was all up to me. Popular? Unpopular?Popular? Unpopular?
"What?" Maive said, breaking my concentration.
"Remind me never to get on your bad side" I said and laughed, Maive joined me and we laughed for what seemed like forever.
