I stepped into the car that had been sent to pick us up from the airport-that's right us, and by us I mean my mum and I. Yes, that's right my mum had come all the way from New Jersey, to drop me off at St Waverton Academy, in California.
It was only because she wanted to check the school out, she would never admit it, but she was just as confused and suspicious as I was. But all the "were one of the top schools in the country" and the whole "we only take the best kids in the country" (well maybe not phrased like that, but you get the point)had made her forget all that.
When we arrived I gasped. It was breathtaking, the school I mean. There was a massive oval near the driveway, and behind it were massive oak trees that must be over a hundred years old. There were 3 buildings near the trees, and another 4 on the other side of the oval. The buildings must have been over a hundred years old too. It was beautiful. And I bet you could see the ocean from the other side of campus.
The car stopped near one of the buildings, I assumed was the office, and we walked in. The ceilings were high, and the floors were marble, my mouth made the shape of an o, and I stared like an idiot.
"Ahh, Miss Bridgton....And Mrs Bridgton, how was the trip?" The (I presume it was the headmaster) said as he Ushered us into his office.
"Fine" my mother answered politely.
"Ahh well its good that you came you have some paperwork to fill in, but we'll leave that till later" He said brightly.
"Ohh, how rude of me! I almost forgot to introduce myself, I'm Headmaster Stevington" He put his hand out for my mother to shake, while I sat down.
"I'm Lillian" my mother replied.
Headmaster Stevington continued to talk about the school, almost as if he was trying to get me to go there, but my mum already agreed to send me here(and agreed to pay the fees), so what was the point?Everything he said my mum just nodded, and sat there like a kid meeting their hero, it was pathetic.
Eventually he stopped "Oh Evianna, I must be boring you" He pressed the button on the intercom "Berta, can you send in Chelsea now, please" A second later a girl my age walked in, said hello to Mr Stevington, and indicated for me to follow her out.
"Bye Mr Stevington" She said in a sugary sweet voice. I followed her out of the building and once we were out of veiw from anyone in the office building, hitched her skirt higher and shook out her hair. When She stood up straight she said "Come on, I'll show you 'round" in a bored, slightly hostile voice. I hope I don't have to be friends with her, but you never know, maybe everyone could be a bigger female dog(I never swear, it's tacky and rude) than her.
