I sat down next to Minnie, and her friend Rebecca, and kept my head down.
"I wonder what she can do?" I heard someone whisper behind me.
"She doesn't look that special" someone else whispered.
"Do you think she knows yet?" I heard someone else say.
What were they talking about? Seriously, what was with the 'what do you think she can do'?
"This is soo embarrassing" I said quietly to Minnie, Rebecca overheard and replied to me with
"Well they just want to know what your pow-" she was cut off by Minnie,
"Shut up!-" she said to Rebecca, then turned to me "-It's only 'coz you're knew, don't worry, they'll be staring for a while, well until they know what your pow......like! Until they know what your like!" She nodded her head eagerly at me, as if trying o get me to believe that that's what she was originally going to say.
"Oh" I responded with, totally confused. The rest of the time I spent concentrating on eating and keeping my mouth shut.

It was later that night when the parties started. Someone banged on my door at about 9:30, I looked up groggily (well I was tired because of the time difference) at went to get it. California was HOT, so all I was sleeping in was boxers and a skimpy singlet top.
"Hi" I said as enthusiastic as I could when I answered the door to find Sage and some other girl standing there.
"What are you doing in that, were you sleeping!" Sage almost yelled by the end.
"Well in Jersey it would be like-" I tried to do the mental math, but was to tired "-....late"
"Yeah well school starts in two days, so we got like 1 night to party, man" Sage pushed me back in my room, flicked on the lights, and started going to the dressers to find which one had my clothes in it.
"What are you doing?" I asked her covering my eyes with my hands, because the light was so blinding.
"I'm finding some clothes for you to wear" Sage said, while going through all my clothes.
"Oh, yeah I'm Rachel" The other girl said.
"Umm, I'm-"
"Yeah I know, everyone knows, Evie, hi" She said.
"Here" Sage said throwing something at me. I didn't catch it, and went to pick it up. It was my purple singlet top, and a jean mini skirt.
"Go on, put it on" Sage said, going over to my shoe rack, and pulling a pair of red ankle batgirl boots. Red boots, with my purple top, was she serious? I went over and swapped them for a pair of black kitten heels.
"Ok hurry up, its time to par-tay!" Sage jumped up and down excitedly.
"Wait, I thought Minnie came in before?" I said just noticing the empty bed.
"Yeah to change, she's already at the party, she suggested I get you, so you didn't miss it, isn't she
Nice?" Sage said in sing song voice.
At this moment in time I wouldn't call that nice, since all I want in the world right know, is to sleep, but maybe I would once I got there.
