In the very large church, both families sat on opposite sides. Christian and company sat with the families of Damien and Dardanelle at the right while Nosci and company sat with Demetrius's family. Vyrh, Dandelion, and Mo stood at the front of the altar while the mysterious assassin sat at the hidden part of the balcony of the church.
"You two look good," Vyrh said, "Dandelion, can you unbloom the flower on your rear end?"
"Uh, biologically, I cannot," she replied, "Half dryad, remember?"
"Yeah, right!" Mo replied, "So who are we wedding today in a multi-religion wedding ceremony highly based on my religion a.k.a Christianity?"
"Dardanelle and Demetrius," Dandelion replied, "Even I am shocked about this. Damien and Dardanelle were simply meant for each other!"
"Well, we have no choice," Mo replied, "Business matters. Let's get on with it!"
At this point, the organist at the second floor (fortunately, no one was around but him and the sniper) began playing the bridal march while Demetrius was at the altar. The doors opened and a stunning Dardanelle walked down the red carpet, blue blood trailing from her as usual. Morpho butterflies accompanied her as she walked smiling her brightest while Damien looked on.
Christian looked around at the stunning decor of the church as the music played, but then his eyes caught the sniper. Nevertheless, he did not breathe a word as the music stopped.
...
Dardanelle and Demetrius stood in front of the three leaders. "We'll survive this," Demetrius whispered to Dardanelle, who smiled nervously.
"Well this is momentous," Vyrh exclaimed, "We have Dardanelle and Demetrius with us."
"Unfortunately, we thought it was Damien who's supposed to be the lucky guy," Mo replied. At that remark, Damien winced while Ixie fumed silently.
"Even me," Demetrius replied, "I thought it was Damien here also!"
Ixie fumed much more while Damien sank deeper.
"Anyway, enough joking," Dandelion said, "We are gathered here to witness the union of Demetrius Endevitre with Daria Danielle Mariposa-Bella. If anyone wishes to object, you may do so."
No one raised a hand.
"Okay then," Mo continued, "Would the groom and bride exchange vows first?" He handed Demetrius the mike as he began to clear his throat.
While Demetrius began to speak the vows, Ixie began to call the sniper on her phone.
"Hello?" he replied.
"Get ready," she whispered, "Demetrius is speaking his vows."
"Doesn't that take a little long?" he asked, "And don't whisper."
"Not really," she softly replied, "and I have to whisper because I am at the front keeping a close eye on the couple."
"Oh," the sniper replied, "I see you right there. By the way, among the crowd are people who was among those who defeated Ravenna four years ago."
"Really?" Ixie asked, "I hope they don't foil my plans because if they do, I have the weapon that could bring them back to four years ago."
"I trust you," he replied, attaching his silencer to his sniper.
"Good," Ixie replied, "because we are now at my favorite part of the wedding, the 'I Do's"
They both hung up at once, and then the sniper began to set his aim.
...
"Do you, Demetrius, take Dardanelle to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, in good times and bad, in sickness and in health, for the better or for worse, when the day gets sunny and the nights rainy, and until forever till death do you part?" Vyrh asked.
"I do," Demetrius replied, and from this point, it's rather in slow motion.
"And do you---"
The sniper began to aim.
"---Dardanelle---"
Ixie began to sweat; her fingers were fidgeting.
"---take this man---"
The sniper began to place his finger on the trigger.
"---to be your lawfully wedded husband---"
Christian looked around and saw the gun.
"---to have and to hold---"
He told Damien about this.
"---in sickness and in health---"
Damien looked up and saw the sniper, then he looked at where the gun was aimed at.
"---for the better or for worse---"
He was shocked and began to fidget.
"---when the day gets sunny---"
The black butterfly Type OV man took out his phone and really began to fidget as others tried to restrain him.
"---and the nights rainy---"
They were causing a little commotion in their seats.
"---and until forever---"
"I have you now, Dardanelle," the sniper whispered as he aimed once again for her head and began to pull the trigger.
"---till death---"
Damien broke free.
"---do you---"
The bullet was half way there as Damien went to the aisle.
"---part?"
He prepared to jump.
As Dardanelle said the "I", a loud, resonating crack of broken glass was heard. Demetrius began to shield himself while everyone began to cover their ears.
