The Internet Café

The internet cafe mentioned is a four storey building located right in between a strip club and a restaurant which specializes in tonkatsu. Its exterior was made with silver blocks alternating with lines of windows. A sign hung above the glass front doors.

Nathan took the key out and unlocked the glass door. Then everyone went inside the room as Lee turned on the lights. Lo and behold, the building, running from front to back, was very very wide.

Twenty long tables, each with eighteen computer stations, ran from three feet from the door all the way to three feet from the back doors. Each two tables from left to right had an aisle between them, and in between the ten tables was an aisle running crosswise along the room. Pictures of heroes from the Rift Games, the Halcyon Arena, the Storm Alliance, the Ancient War, and the Future Games were set up on the walls around the room, making it a haven for gamers.

"This is the branch with the fastest internet connection," Lee remarked, "but ironically, it is the least successful in the business."

"Indeed," Benedict replied, "the free Wi-Fi here is very fast with a speed of 3 TB/minute. So says my smartphone."

"Let us show you the rest of the floors," Nathan said, and he led them through the back doors and up the stairs.

The three floors above were identical living spaces as wide as the ground floor below, and it was high enough to support an Entomonian breeder living inside as well. Opposite the people were the windows mentioned before. The area nearest them was a spacious mattress area with enough room for a table (traditionally, the Japanese sleep on soft mattresses on the floor).

In front of that was a kitchen and dining area with some cupboards, a stove and kitchen equipment including a small fridge; the dining area had pillow chairs facing a low table.

Finally, the last third of the room was divided into a corridor and a T&B (yes, an Entomonian breeder could fit inside) which looked like that of a four star hotel. All in all, the three floors were like very large and wide one-room studio condominium units without doors.

The six returned downstairs to find Vyrhihyannah and Mozart just at two adjacent stations waiting for their game to load, and instantly, Christian, Benedict, Quilleanna, and Quvarranna ran to hug the drider DJ duo.

"Heard about your loss of inheritance," Vyrhihyannah said, "You working here now?"

"Yes," Christian replied, "with these two."

"Well he now owns this branch," Lee corrected, "Let's see what he'll make of it, along with his friends."

"What?" Christian asked.

"Nate and Lee run only three branches," Mozart replied, "All of them form an equilateral triangle in Akihabara, and since this is a partnership you also get to own the branch with the fastest internet connection."

"Yet it is the least successful," Christian replied.

"Even if we lowered the prices to 30 yen an hour," Lee added, "We do charge by the hour."

"Including fractions thereof," Nathan added.

"It's feasible," Vyrh replied, adjusting her eight legs to position herself properly. "I just don't know why this irony happened."

"Has any famous gamer entered the place aside from you two?" Quill asked.

"No," the two owners replied, "Which reminds us, are you still making music, Christian?"

"Yes," he replied, "but at a slower rate because studies. Vyrh and Mozart continuously make music, (shift gaze to the two) don't you?"

"Yes," Mozart replied, "still melodic as always and---whoops! Our game has begun! Oh, guys, there's one thing you missed."

"We just got married!" Vyrhihyannah shouted, showing them her ring.

Benedict put a finger to his lips in front of Vyrh, who dismissed it immediately. Then he demanded, "Mo! Ring or it's fake!"

Mozart also showed his ring, a ring just exactly like Vyrh's. "Do you believe us?"

"Now we do," Benedict replied, "How was it?"

"It was blessed by the deities," Mozart replied, "since the deities are the family of Vyrh!"

"Glorious!" Quilleanna replied, "I wish ours was like that, if we ever get married, Ben."

"We will, soon," he replied, "But on that note, congratulations, and have a blissfully married life."

"Thank you!" the newlyweds replied as their computers sounded a blast of explosion.

"And on that note, Christian, we have to leave now to manage our own branches," Nathan replied.

"So, keep this branch in tip top shape and try to make whatever money comes out of it," Lee added, "Also, do enjoy Japan once in a while, there's so much to do and see here."

"We will when we get to it," Benedict replied, "You can trust us."

"Well, you are 'undercover angels,' " Nathan replied as he and Lee went out the door.
