Chapter Seventeen

Here it is! Chapter seventeen and unfortunately, the last of this book. I can't thank you guys enough for the support throughout this whole book it's been amazing. I can't believe I'm almost at 2k reads as well. I honestly thought no one was gonna show up to read any of this! Thankyou all so so so much for reading and I hope you enjoy the (slightly cheesy/cringe/extremely fluffy) chapter. {Marinette's POV}

The further through the song they went, the more it seemed to sink in. It was finally here. They day I've been waiting for for so long!

"Happy birthday to Ma-ri, happy birthday to you!" My parents sang in unison as they handed me a gorgeously wrapped gift covered in pink patterned paper and gold bows. I unwrapped the bows, placing them onto the table and removed the printed wrapping. Inside lay a box in which I couldn't make out what could be inside.

Before opening, I hugged Mama and Papa and thanked them very much and returned to the box. Inside lay a beautiful white laced top with a red skirt that matched with the same white laced fabric as an underlay. It was the most beautiful outfit I think I've ever seen, let alone owned!

"Thank you Mama, thank you Papa." I brought them both into a group hug. "I love it so much thank you!" I ran upstairs to get ready, wearing my new outfit and some white flats to match. I decided to wear my hair out and slightly messy, making sure not to look to dressy for school.

"Have a nice day sweetie!" My mum chimed as I went to leave. I turned around to face both mum and dad in the bakery. "Love you! Cya tonight." Before opening the door I heard light giggles coming from them as they shook there heads slightly. It seemed normal so I kept going, not taking to much notice to it.

The streets were free of Akumas once again, or as we were informed by Nooroo, only for the time being. It was so nice and peaceful on my way to school. I walked into our school, actually on time today.

I spotted Alya, Nino and Adrien and wandered over. "Marinette!" Alya chimed and I hugged both her and Adrien hello. I was so happy to be with them today.

"No hug for your man?" Nino laughed.
"I didn't think you wanted one?" I giggled back as he opened his arms in response. I gave him a friendly hug and stepped back.

"Happy birthday Mari" They all chimed at once, obviously not on purpose as they ended in a fit of giggles.

"Happy birthday Mari" Adrien smiled softly. "You look really pretty!" He blushed and I brought him in for a hug, longer this time.

"Thank you" I smiled into the crook of his neck as I stood atop my tippy toes. I could feel Alya's "awes" so I pulled away and thanked Alya and Nino as well.

The bell chimed to symbolise the start of the day and we all sighed before making our way over. I didn't even gain a weekend for my birthday, but at least I got to spend my special day with my friends, cause that's the best present I could ever ask for.

"C'mon Mari it's not that hard!" Alya guided me through the short walk as the boys giggled behind me.

"Stop laughing its harder then it looks!" I joked around, almost tripping as I laughed. It was really hard to be honest, especially when your as clumsy as me.

They were guiding me, blindfolded, to some place where I assumed would be my birthday surprise. It was exciting but scary at the same time.

"We are here! Just stay here with your blindfold on and I'll tell you when you can remove it Mari!" Alya said, her voice growing further away as if she was walking away from me. "Don't leave me here blindfolded it's scary!" I shook my head with a slight giggle in response, too scared to now move or talk. I felt someone grip my hand tightly and a grin shot across my face. 'Adrien' I sighed in my thoughts.

"Ok you can take your mask off Marinette!" I heard Adrien say from beside me. Another big grin spread across my face as I revealed what was before me.

There were balloons everywhere as well as presents, food, decorations, but most importantly, all my friends. It made me so happy to see them all here and to see all the effort they put into this for me.

There were streamers hanging from trees and pretty floral table cloths spread out on each table. Even Chloe had shown up and she even seemed to look happy for once as she gave me a tiny smile. It was only tiny but for someone who never smiles, it kinda felt special.

I walked around thanking everyone for the amazing party but aside from all the birthday wishes, I would only get an answer of, "Thank Alya, Nino and Adrien. They did all this for you!" So that's what I did.

After thanking everyone I went up and gave them all the biggest group hug I've ever given. "Thankyou so much guys!" A single tear was brought to my eye as I muffled the many thankyous into someone's chest who stood in front of me in the group hug.

"Of coarse. We are your best friends Mari and this is the least we could of done. Your special to us gurl" Alya hugged me tightly. "I think it's present time" She giggled.

After opening most of my presents, a new sketch book from Nathaniel, a dress from Rose, a CD from Ivan and many many more, I was left with 2 more presents. "Here is our present to you. From me and Nino" Alya pushed a small, square box towards me.

Inside lay a beautiful charm bracelet filled with charms. The silver bracelet held 10 different hearts all with a different memory on the back. I picked up one that had Alya and my name on the back and the date that we met. It felt so special to even know she remembered the date.

"Guys this is beautiful" I hugged them both tightly. This held so many special moments that I didn't want to ever forget. "Thankyou so much guys!" I broke the hug to face Adrien.

He smiled nervously and handed me a small wrapped box. Underneath the wrapping was a small black box that you would receive jewellery in. I was cross legged infront of Adrien, only afew centimetres away, as I opened up the box to reveal its contents.

"Adrien, I-its so beautiful!" I gasped as I removed the small ring from the boxes hold. It was a two silver bands wrapped parallel to each other in a circle. Connecting each band were two interlocked hearts made from a shiny stone.

Adrien held my hand and showed me the inside of the ring. "It's a promise ring. And on the inside of the ring is engraved one of the things I promise to do." I looked him in the eyes before reading the tiny words.

I promise to always be there. I promise to always love you.

I looked him in the eyes before grabbing him into a hug. "Thankyou Adrien. I love it so very much. It's beautiful and I couldn't of asked for anything more beautiful in my entire life." Happy tears started to fall and Adrien broke the hug to grab the ring.

"May I?" He asked before he slipped the ring onto my finger. I sniffled as I giggled, trying my best not to cry. I'm not the best in these sorts of happy moments.

"Marinette I love you. And I know I shouldn't need a ring to tell you that but your so special to me and I felt like I wasn't doing a good enough job at explaining it."

I hugged him again. "You have Adrien. No matter if your Adrien or a silly kitty. I don't think I could ever be more happy to call someone mine. Your presence has always made me happy, since the day you gave me your umbrella, the same day I made a total fool of my hero self, not knowing that the love of my life was actually behind that black mask." I made sure to keep my voice at a whisper to not reveal the secrets of Paris' famous heros.

My birthday turned out amazing! Everyone had so much fun! We were dancing, singing, and talking all through the rest of the afternoon. It felt great to be happy and know everyone else was happy as well. By far that was the best birthday I've ever had, maybe even the best day in general. I guess you could say,

It was Miraculous...
