19) Final Chapter: Part 2

Hiro squints in the distance. "Cairo...look."

"What?"

"Do my eyes deceive me? Or is that--"

"Jazmine!"

Cairo sprints off, leaving Hiro in dust to curse.

Cairo crowns when he sees that she's not alone. With her are three other boys, two dressed in dark clothing and one in armor. The one in armor rides a horse and behind him sits the princess Ming.

Jazmine's eyes of jade widen. "Cairo?!" Huey presses his lips together when Cairo reaches them, wrapping his arms around the princess and spinning her around. "Have you come this whole way to find me?"

"Of course! I was worried to death!" Cairo smiles and she awkwardly smiles back, realising his arms are still around her in a hug with no space.

"Are you alone? Have the other knights come with you?"

Hiro walks and catches up. "Just me."

"Hiro?!"

He frowns. "Ming? Is that you?"

Ming pokes her head from behind Caesar and his strong armor. Hiro's eyes widen and he rushes to the side of the horse, but Gabrielle backs away. "Where have you been? Come, I will not rebuke you."

Ming looks nervously at him and hops off the unicorn. Hiro immediately pulls his friend in a hug. "Thank the gods you're okay..." he pulls away. "What happened?"

"Its...its a long story."

"Okay then? Who are you all?"

Ming answers, "These are my friends. They..." Ming looks to the others. "They saved us!"

"Saved you? From what?"

"We were kidnapped, Hiro, but were okay now, because of them..."

Huey and Riley seem surprised by her cover up. Hiro stands in front of them, including Cynthia and Caesar and he bows, making them even more startled. "You saved the princesses we were bounded to protect. For that, we are fully in your dept."

Huey arches an eyebrow. "That is not nec--"

"Hold on now, let us see how this goes," Riley says quietly, nudging him. "Will we be receiving rewards for this?"

Hiro says, "We will return to the kingdom together. I'm sure the king will reward you handsomely."

Riley smirks. "Nice." Cynthia nudges him painfully and he glares at her.

As Hiro had promised, the kingdom was elated to have their princess back, and they were elated handsomely.

"Thank you," the queen had said with tears in her blue eyes, "Thank you for bringing us back our Jazmine."

Jazmine was dressed in one of her glorious green gowns. After they had returned, even Ming had cleaned up and changed in a red ballroom gown. Huey and Riley were knighted and that night there was a huge celebration, similar to the one Jazmine had attended the night she snuck out, except it was the whole kingdom. The gates were open and everyone was welcome.

Jazmine beams with joy as she claps along to the choirs music, jumping up and down in the process. Huey, leaned on a pole, watches her with hands in his pockets. He feels his smirk drop. "What now..." he says to himself.

"Now. You leave."

Huey feels the other boy's presence and scowls again. Cairo leans on the other side of the pole, watching what he does is his beautiful flower as she sways to the music. "I don't know what it is, but there's something off with you."
