Take It Out On Me

PART TWO: CHAPTER FIVE

--- 6 year time skip ---

They say that day by day nothing changes, but when you look back everything's different. Things for Tyler and I were no different, life happens was my best guess at it all. They also say the first one is the worst one, or that you never get over your first love.

That's how it was for me, Tyler no so much. I got the boy and she got the man.

Today marked 6 days untill he would be marrying her, each time i was reminded of it felt like my heart was being ripped from my chest like in some old horror flick. Had too much pride to say anything.

I was pulled from my thoughts when my phone lit up, it was a text from Tyler.

T: Can I drop TJ off?

S: Yeah, is everything ok?

T: Talk to you about it when I get there

Why did he need to drop TJ off during the middle of his visitation week? A million thoughts were running through my mind. I continued to search for something to watch on TV while I waited for him to show up.

I settled for a rerun of Pretty Little Liars, about 10 minutes into it the front door swung open revealing a not so happy TJ with Tyler behind him.

"Go play in your room little man" Tyler got down to his level and gave him a kiss on the forehead

"Love you kiddo" he smiled as he used his hand to ruffle TJ's hair.

He ran off to his room without speaking a word to either of us. Tyler could tell by the look on my face that i was very concerned.

"I don't know what to do, he bawled his eyes out when I had to tell him she changed her mind about him being the ring bearer. Now everytime we go somewhere together when it's my week to have him, she either wants me to drop him off with you or not go at all" He said, he was clearly frustrated.

"She doesn't like him" I stated, no sugar coating it.

"Why would you say that? She loves him" It clearly pissed him off

"Because he gets more attention from you than she does, that's why she always wants you to drop him off. You obviously came here for my opinion on it, i gave it to you" I shrugged my shoulders

"You're right, I shouldn't be getting mad at you. Make sure you give him a hug and a kiss for me, please?" He stood up and made his way to the door

"yeah I will. Is your mom is town yet?" I asked before he opened the front door to leave.

"yeah, I'll tell her to come by" He laughed, he know his mom and I would be having one hell of a week this week.

He slipped through the door and shut it behind him. I walked up the stairs to TJ's room, I could hear him quietly crying on the other side of the door.

I slowly entered the room not wanting to scare him, he turned around and faced me when he heard the door shut.

"what's wrong little man?" I questioned him as I sat down on the bed next to him. I knew exactly what was bothering him, but I guess I just wanted to figure out how he felt about Tyler marrying her.

"Daddy's girlfriend doesn't like me" he sobbed,

"why would you say that baby?" I wanted so badly to tell him that I didn't like her either but he was 5 for Christ sakes.

"because I heard her tell her friend she doesn't like me, thinks daddy pays more attention to me" he looked up at me, eyes red and puffy from crying.
