I stare at him for a while. I'm unsure how to respond to his strangeness. "No, there is no world outside this, it was all destroyed, thats why we're here." i say. I'm trying to knock some sense into him. " You're wrong." He says staring down at me due to his massive height. "Thats just what they tell you. You'll eat up any lie they feed you."
"I know them they would never lie to me. They're doing the right thing!"
"By tampering with life?"
I never thought about it like that. "Just think about it," he starts. "If they survived a supposed 'annihilation' like they say why couldn't they just inhabit the world with children of their own? See? it doesn't make any sense." It was like my whole world came crashing down on me. The universe was caving. Everything i was ever told was a lie? "No."
"No?"
"No. This doesn't prove anything. Maybe they just weren't smart enough to think about that." I try to come up with something, anything, to prevent him from having the upper hand. "Oh, yeah sure, but they were smart enough to create genetically altered humans? I have a hard time believing that, Clara." At that point i was stunned. Not at the fact that he had some convincing evidence, but the fact that he new my real name. " How do you even know about my name? You know nothing about my past life."
"Uh, correction, I know more about you than you do about yourself. Some Glitches know more than others. There are probably some other Glitches who know even more than I do but their lips are locked unless you're willing to make a trade." This was all to much there's a whole other world out there that I didn't even know existed. It was all so much to take in. "Listen, I appreciate you spilling you're secrets but I have a test to pass." I say trying to get as far away from him as I can. He grabs my arm roughly. "You can't pass." he says seriously. I laugh at first until I look into his eyes and see that he's dead serious. "I have to pass or I get deactivated, same goes for you too so why are you telling me not to pass?"
"Because you'll destroy the world if you do."
