Signe's POV
I can't find Rachel anywhere. I slowly start to panic. I run outside, and then I go into the courtyard. Rachel is there, playing with a random soccer ball she must have found. She's juggling it with her feet.. she's really good. I just observe her for a little bit. I walk down into the courtyard. "What are you doing out here Rachel?" I ask. "Every day before y'all found me I would practice soccer.. I've always wanted to grow up and play soccer." She says. "I used to play on a team close by before my parents.. you know.. Anyway I've just missed it so much so I found this and I want to start practicing it again." I just stare at her for a second. "I can take you to the local soccer club? Maybe you would want to try it out there?" I ask, if she wants to do soccer, I'll support that. "Really?" She looks at me all excited like. After that we decided to walk there, it's not that far away. I look on the fields, there's coaches.. kids using soccer balls. I go up to one of the coaches that seem to be coaching a group of kids.. I'm kind of new to this whole sports thing so I don't really know how to physically sign up. I tap his shoulder. "Um hello?" I say. He turns to me. "Hello, can I help you?" He asks. "Well you see my daughter Rachel here she uh.. Wants to play soccer but I don't really know how to sign her up and stuff like uh that." He looks at me like I'm crazy. "You realize this club is for elite athletes, the people here have been doing soccer their whole lives.. if you want a starting ground go do rec or something." He says like he's said it a million times before. "But she's played soccer before!" I say, kind of aggravated. "Well shouldn't you know how to do all of this stuff then?" He asks. "Well uh no, you see uh she's not related to me.. My husband and I.. adopted her you could say." I respond, kind of uncomfortable saying it. He looks at Rachel and he calls one of his players. "This is my best player. You two will do a 1 v 1. I will throw the ball and you are supposed to chase it and try and score. I will evaluate how you do. Rachel and The other girl, she looks a little bit older than her by maybe a couple of years. He punts the ball high in the air. "GO" he yells. From the start you can tell Rachel is faster. Rachel runs up and uses her foot to settle the ball. The other girl runs in front of her to try and defend her. The older girl lunges toward her and the ball, but Rachel pulls the ball one way and shoots on the goal and scores. The coach looks kind of mad. He pulls out another player to do the same thing, the other player loses again. He goes through basically the whole team and Rachel beats every one of them. "Enough!" The coach yells. Rachel runs back over to me and the coach walks up to her. "You have some talent little girl. How would you like a spot on my team?" He asks. "But these girls look two or three years older than her." I say before Rachel could say anything. "It doesn't matter how old they are, younger children can play up, and she would be a fair player with the children her age, but also she wouldn't have a challenge because she's so good. "Alright.. I'll call Sean." I walked off to the side and called him.
J: "Hello?"
W: "Hey, is it okay if I put Rachel in a select soccer team with girls about two years older than her?"
J: .. "Wait what?"
W: "Earlier today Rachel was playing soccer in the courtyard.. I took her to the nearest soccer club and she played against some older girls and now they want her."
J: "How did she know how to play soccer that fast?"
W: "Before we adopted her."
J: "Ah.. right.. well okay, I'm okay with that."
W: "Okay Beb I love you, bye."
J: "Bye little lady."
I hang up.
I walk back over, "So when do we start?"
The Coach and I talk about what she needs and what the schedule is. We go home after that.
End of chapter. I just kind of came up with this idea because I play select soccer and I wanted Rachel to also. Anyway tanks for reading erryone and boi.
