It was Monday and as usual, I had a hard time waking up. Lazily, I dragged myself to the toilet to take a bath and got ready to school.

After getting ready to school, I went down to the kitchen and packed my waffles, which Dara unnie made before leaving to her office, and quickly drove off to school.

With my left hand controlling the steering wheel, I had my breakfast on the way to school in my car. I parked my car at my favourite spot when I found it unoccupied.

I got off from my car and walked towards my locker as usual to take the stuffs needed.

"Chaerin-ah."

I heard someone called me as soon as I wanted to lock my locker. I closed the locker and looked at my side, where the voice came from.

Seeing Jiyong standing there made me smile that day. My morning was brighter compared to the previous dull mornings I had the past few days.

He smiled at me back. Oh, how much I miss this smile! I wish I could see it everyday, every minute, every second. But it is impossible.

"Yeah, what's up?" I responded to his call.

"Breakfast?" he asked.

"Sounds great!" I agreed.

His smile became brighter, brighter than yesterday.

He then grabbed my hand and brought me to his favourite café in school.

"You were a little upset the past few days. Are you okay?" he asked as we were on the way to the café.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I was a little tired due to lack of rest, but had enough rest during the weekend. It was great!" I lied.

"Great to hear that," he said, smiling at me.

After having our breakfast, he accompanied me to my class.

"Do you guys have prom? Like every year?" I asked, remembering those beautiful nights dancing and having fun with friends.

"Why? Do you like prom nights?" he questioned.

"Like? I love them!" I responded cheerfully.
"And I miss them. I have not been to prom for years in the U.S." I pouted.

"Well, would you like to be my date to the prom then?" he asked.

I smiled, wasn't expecting to hear that question from him. As I was about to reply him, Hyelin unnie appeared.

"Jiyong," she called.

"Hyelin," he called back, shocked with her appearance.

I let go of his hand that was holding mine.

"You must be Chaerin, right?" she asked, looking at me.

I smiled and greeted her, respecting her as my senior.

She smiled at me back, then turned to look at Jiyong who was still in a 'shock' state.

"Breakfast?" she asked.

"I had my..." Before he could finish his sentence, I cut him off.

"I gotta go for my first class," I said, then bowed to both of them and walked away.

"Chaerin!" Jiyong called, but I ignored it.

Oh, that heartburn came back. This uncomfortable unknown feeling came back. My tears were about to roll down my cheeks when I felt someone grabbing my arm. I quickly wipe my tears away and turned.
