He vaguely recalls the ride to the hospital. He remembers calling his mom and his mom's words asking him to calm down. He brought M to St. Luke's at BGC. When they reached the hospital, it was a blur.

He never felt so helpless and weak and scared in his life. His knees are buckling! Shit! What's wrong with M??? Is she in pain??? She was in and out of consciousness during the entire ride making him panic even more. He just kept on talking to her, to let her know he's there by her side and he's not leaving.

His OB/Gyne aunt is there with two other doctors waiting for them. His parents & M's are on the way.
She was rushed inside so the doctors can check on her, a nurse is talking to him now, asking details about M and what happened. He sighed in relief when he saw his parents enter the waiting room.

He gave them an update on M.  He was called in shortly after by the doctors. He asked his parents to wait there for M's parents. The doctor told him her vital signs are back to normal but her blood pressure is low. They're running several tests to rule out other symptoms. He was told she's now awake and he rushed to her room.

He came into the room and just hugged her, burrying his face on her shoulder, inhaling her warmth. He didn't trust himself to say anything, his emotions might get the better of him. Maine hugged him back, running her fingers through his hair and rubbing his back. She's the one comforting him. He's so thankful she's okay and praying hard that all her tests will come out normal.

"How are you feeling?"
He really wants to bang his head on the wall for being responsible why she's in the hospital right now. He shouldn't have asked her to go on this trip with him.

"Better, inatake lang ako ng vertigo plus dysmenorrhea. Always a bad combination."

He sighed and kissed her. He's still worried.

Just then Nanay and Tatay came in, followed by his parents. J gave them the low-down of what the doctor told him as they patiently wait for the results of the tests ran on M.

Their parents are having dinner in one of the restaurants at the hospital, when a doctor and J's tita came into the room. J has been holding onto M's hand, sitting near her bed. He didn't realize he is now squeezing M's hand really tight. His aunt cleared her throat.

"We have good news and bad." She started.

J just looked at her blankly, heart in his throat.

"The good news is Maine is pregnant!"

The words washed over him like warm water, making his heart beat so fast. Pero wait, may bad news eh! He completely stopped breathing, anticipating the blow of the bad news.

"The bad news is she's having pre-mature labor, hence the spotting and lower back pain."

"Pregnant? For real??" Maine's voice sounded unsure but happy.

"What are the chances we will be able to save the baby?" J asked, his voice strained.

"It's too early to tell but we will give her medication to help with the problem. She badly needs to rest, bed rest as in strictly confined to the bed for at least a week, bathroom breaks lang allowed. Strictly no sexual contact din."

"Are they both in danger, I mean, what's the worst that could happen? Should we keep her here?"

"There's nothing to worry about, just strictly follow doctor's orders to rest. Yan lang for now."
