Chapter 5 -Christians' Birthday.
(Unedited)
Star and Lacerta came running over to Christians' table.
"Happy birthday." they both shouted.
"Although we don't tend to celebrate birthdays here, you do get a special treat when you first arrive!" Star explained.
"Quickly now, come with us. We have recorded some footage that we think you will enjoy!"
Puzzled, Christian left his seat and followed his Mentors, intrigued as to what he may see.
They entered a small cinema-like room and sat down on plush, comfy chairs.
The show began.

Back on Earth, Ethan decided to go wake Christian up with his usual favourite birthday treat for him--an ice cold bucket of water over him to start the day as Ethan believed he deserved. He was a nothing and would always be a nothing! Even their Mother told Ethan constantly and Nathan on occassion too, that he was the biggest mistake of her life! Their Dad, as usual stood back and looked on, with a sad glimmer of tears in his eyes, but never strong enough to take both his wife and Ethan to task--they would jointly make mincemeat out of him. So, he did as he always did and let Christian take the brunt!
It wasn't that James had always been such a broken down shadow of a man. His wife had, over the years, humiliated him in front of friends, work colleagues and even family members. Despite him being the best and most loved animal nurse at the shelter, the reality was that when away from his beloved animals, his social interaction and confidence was nil, thanks to firstly his wife and now, even Ethan joined in, spurred on by Patricia, when she graced the family home with her attendance.
Funnily enough, as it was the weekend and Christians' birthday, Patricia decided to make an appearance--not for her sons' birthday, but to wind up the little skinny and awkward runt; an act that she always took the greatest if pleasure in doing!
Ethan charged towards Christians bedroom door, without pausing to see if the door was open or closed. Luckily for him it was ajar and putting his foot in the gap, he used his momentum to open the door wide. He was just about to throw the water, when he stopped, mouth agape as he realised the bed was empty.
He put the bucket down angrily-how dare the little weasel ruin his fun!
He shouted , with an evil tone to his voice.
"You won't be able to hide from me forever, you worthless piece of crap! Delaying just gives me time to plan even worse 'presents' for you! " As Ethan paused for breath, he realised the window was open and went to look out. He could see some faint foot indentations in the grass, leading to the hollow tree at the bottom of the garden.
So, that's his plan. Ethan thought. Hiding in the hollow tree so that I won't get him! He must be stupider than he looks 'cos I'm gonna get him trapped in a confined space too!
Being the evil character he was, Ethan went in search of some duct tape.
Let's see how he likes being ice-cold and trapped in the tree all day. He won't try and out-smart me again anytime soon!
Grabbing the duct tape, Ethan pulled on his boots and legged it towards the tree--bucket in one hand, the tape and his camera in the other. He couldn't wait to show the guys at school this years' epic prank.
Reaching the tree, he readied the water and came to the hollow part. Shouting "Gotcha" , he flung the water into the hollow, expecting a gasp or scream in shock!
