Chapter 29- Can light ever become dark?
Destrodia: The following morning.
Tash awoke, for the second time in as many days, feeling content, safe and wrapped in a warm, firm embrace.
Hey, what the.......? she suddenly thought--this is not my normal behaviour and there was something grappling around in the back of her head that was niggling at her, as if telling her all was not quite right.
As if it hit her as solidly as a bolt of lightning striking, all of yesterdays happenning came flooding back and she sat bolt upright in bed, ripping herself from Finns' tight embrace.
Feeling afraid to open her eyes, she slowly peeked between her fingers--as if by sheer reflex she had covered her face with both hands when she sat up.
Oh the spirits! she thought, it really is true --I am in Destrodia! I'm sleeping in bed with Finn, in our own appartment, without saying Goodbye to all my friends and I'm all alone, she thought sadly to herself.
I have nobody here except for Finn, although I do really love him and I did say I would go to the end of the World for him; that was just a figure of speech though, right?
Her thoughts were jumbled and confused--she felt isolated, alone, yet excited and totally head over heels in love with Finn, all at once!
As if sensing her thoughts, Finn sat up slowly, rubbing his sleepy eyes and causing Tashs' stomach to erupt in butterflies as it always did when she gazed at him.
His hair looked adorably tousled, his heavy-lidded eyes only adding to the fluttering in her stomach.
"Morning beautiful," Finn whispered in his stil sleepy voice.
"I thought I had the most amazing dream, about you and I being together for eternity, but then I awoke and you are here, with me, in our own appartment and starting a brand new life."
He paused, as if realising for the first time that Tash was less than happy.
Taking her chin in his hands, he trailed gentle, butterfly kisses on both of her eyelids, down each cheek and finished by placing a delicate kiss on the end of her nose.
"Tash, my beloved one, please tell me you are happy, that you love me, that you have no regrets?"
For the first time Tash had ever seen Finn, he really looked vunerable; a doubting, mournful and more than scared look was etched across his features, as if his entire life depended on her answer.
Snuggling against his side, Tash swept his tousled locks backwards, affording her full sight of his beautiful, green eyes.
"Finn, I love you more than life itself. I promised I would go to the end of the Earth for you, to be with you and to stay with you forever.
I have to admit I didn't think, even in my wildest expectations, to end up in Destrodia of all places, but......" she paused to think carefully about her next words.
"If this means you and I can be together forever, raising our children together and seeing you happy, well, then that's okay by me. I do admit that this is not the way I saw our life together panning out, but if we are going to have a good life, a happy life and not be forced apart by some stupid old rules that Guardonia, then I will make my or our, should I say," she corrected herself with a smile, "life the best imaginable--a fairytale, albeit a dark one!" she ended, with a giggle.
Finn exhaled a breath of air that he didn't realise he was holding in.
Pulling Tash into a tight embrace, he kissed the top of her head and smiled broadly--he had woken earlier than he let on to Tash and had been dreading her waking up and panicking that they had made a huge mistake.
