One month later.
Here I am, down by the lake skipping stones. I should be training but Alexander is still hurt. I don't want him injuring himself more for my sake. He thinks its not a good idea to stop my training all together. We just argued over it not so long ago.
He walked into my room and stares for a moment.
"What is it?" I said turning to face him. "Your training needs to continue." He said looking down at me.
"But your injured. I can't train without you." I said standing to my feet. He shook his head.
"That's not what I mean." He said stepping closer to me. I tilted my head to meet his gaze.
"Then, what exactly did you mean?" I said squinting my eyes at him. He seemed to be a little distraught with the next words he was trying to say.
"I think its best if Jonathan train you until I'm healed." He says lowly. I quickly shook my head in refusal.
"I refuse." I said, turning to walk away. Alexander pulled me against him from behind and flush into his chest.
"Lafaye you cannot afford to stop training." He whispered in my ear embracing me.
"I have no other choice." I said not letting him effect me in the way he was trying to. I simply pushed his arms away and turned to face him.
"You do have a choice and your choosing wrong. Just train with Jonathan." He says running his hand through his hair roughly.
"I refuse." I said again looking at the face he's made. He puffed out his chest and sighed.
"Lafaye..." He started to say caressing my cheek. I removed his hand and looked at him.
"No. What he had said was unforgivable. I will not a even acknowledge his presence." I said squeezing his hand lightly before letting it go. I walked away from him leaving him inside with a longing look...So here I am. Skipping stones. Bloop, bloop, bloop, splash. I hear a rustle behind me and pick up a rock ready to throw it. I turn to see Jonathan approaching me. I drop the rock and stand up. I turn to walk away.
"Lafaye, wait!" He says pulling my hand. I quickly pull it away.
"Don't touch me." I sneer in his face. I turn and to walk away.
"Lafaye. Just speak with me for a moment." He says pleadingly gripping my arm. I lift my head and turn to face him.
"Only a moment." I say with an emotionless look. He releases my arm and I turn to face him.
"Lafaye, my cousin says your training needs to continue." He says looking down at me.
"So what?" I say twiddling my fingers and I turn to walk away.
"I could help continue your training until Alex is healed." He says following behind me.
"I can wait until Alexander is healed." I say walking towards the cottage. He follows closely behind me trying to match my pace.
"Look Lafaye, I know what I said was out of line and I apologize. " He says looking over at me pleadingly.
"Apology not accepted." I say not offering a second glance. I open the cottage door and slam it behind me. He opens the door and scoffs. I start walking up the stairs and then he begins addressing me.
"You're being a pompous Imbicile Lafaye." I turn to him astonishment written all over my face.
"Me, pompous? I think not; you egotistical, inconsiderate, ignorantly bland excuse for a man. How dare you even fix your lips to say anything about me when you're not even close to being perfect? You have no right to talk in fact. You bearly have the right to breathe!" I seethe at the top of my lungs. Shock was clearly sketched into Jonathan's face due to my outburst. I breathe heavily to catch my breath only to notice Alexander watching from the side entrance room.
"Well, that was quiet the show." He says smugly. He pushes off the wall he was leaning upon. "I think that this little 'spat' might have caused all the tension to be released."
I turn to him and scoffs at his idiotic comment. I turn to walk up the stairs and walk into my room. No later than a few minutes go by before I hear a knock at the door. Alexander opens the door slightlyvasking if I'm okay.
"I'm fine. It's was nothing of the serious nature." I say facing away from him.
"Jonathan says he didn't think so. He thinks that you absolutely hate his guts. But he also sees how much you two's initial interaction bothered you." He says sitting by the foot of my bed.
"Good. I've finally gotten through to his thick headed arrogant persona." I say not really caring about his 'Revelations'.
"He gineualy want to apologize Lafaye. Why can't you just at least hear him out? What's so wrong with a man admitting he was wrong? Just hear him out then you can decide if you're willing to train with him. Deal?" I can only sigh and nod my head. I continue to lay there as I hear him get up and leave my room. Not even a few minutes later when I hear another knock on the door. I mumble a 'come in' before he opens the door. I sit up to face him as he rubs his face sighing heavily.
"Look Lafaye, I sincerely want to apologize for the way I acted. It was wrong of me to say what I said. I'd like to let you know that I am truly sorry. I would be honored if you would allow me to be you're stand in trainer while Alex is healing. You obviously mean something to him and so does your training. Please allow me to aid my cousin in this favor."
I'm at a loss for words. His apology seems to be from the heart. I stare at the pure determination that's written across his face. I nod and offer my hand.
"I accept you're apology. Doesn't mean we're friends, but I will also accept you're offer for my training."
He smiles small before taking my hand. We shake hands and nod at each other. He leaves my room afterwards. I think that this might be bearable. Keyword is might be. But I know one thing; I get stronger by the day and more determined with each passing minute. I won't be stopped now. I refuse.
