I'm a Statue

No matter what you say

My mind will never change

I've decided my fate

I will leave you alone in your selfish rage

All this time I thought you were helping

All this time I thought you loved me

But once again I have been used

Once again torn down, chastised, abused

I'm on a hilltop

Far above you

It's impossible for me to drop

Now that I've escaped you

Immovable I shall always stand here

High above you

Your insults I can't hear

I'm heavy in my spot

Where I've decided to stay

Shake me not

My determination leaves you in dismay

And when you ask me why

I say

"I'm a statue."
